Cittadella Modern Studio – Pet friendly! Overview

First Impressions

Walking up Via Calcirelli, you’d almost miss Cittadella Modern Studio – Pet friendly! if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This three-star studio sits right in the thick of Verona’s historical center, tucked away on a quiet street that feels worlds apart from the tourist crowds just around the corner. The building itself has that understated Italian elegance you see everywhere in this city, but step inside and you’ll find something refreshingly contemporary. What struck me immediately was how they’ve managed to create a modern space without losing that authentic Veronese character.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what’s brilliant about this spot? You’re literally a three-minute walk from Piazza delle Erbe, but you won’t hear the late-night chatter from your window. I mean, couples absolutely love it here — they’ve rated the location 9.3, and I get why. You can stumble back from dinner at one of the nearby osterias without navigating confusing medieval streets, and in the morning, you’re already in the heart of everything. The Lamberti Tower is practically next door, and if you’re planning to visit Juliet’s House (tourist trap, but you’ll probably go anyway), it’s a five-minute stroll.

The Studio Space

The room itself is surprisingly spacious for what you’d expect in this part of town. They’ve done something clever with the layout — the sleeping area doesn’t feel cramped, and there’s actually enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The kitchenette is compact but functional, which comes in handy when you want to grab fresh produce from the morning market and prepare a simple breakfast. The modern touches work well here — clean lines, good lighting, and thankfully, proper blackout curtains that actually block out the early morning sun.

Pet-Friendly Perks

Here’s something you don’t find everywhere in Verona’s centro storico — they genuinely welcome pets, and it’s not just a grudging acceptance. The staff actually seems to enjoy having furry guests around, and there’s no weird additional hassle or excessive fees. If you’re traveling with your dog, you’ll appreciate that there are several small parks within walking distance, and the nearby streets are perfect for morning and evening walks. Plus, many of the local cafés are surprisingly dog-friendly, so you won’t feel like you’re constantly searching for places that’ll accommodate your four-legged companion.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances location with livability. You’re not just staying in a tourist zone — you’re actually living in Verona for a few days. The morning light streaming through those big windows, the sound of locals heading to work instead of tour groups, the fact that you can pop out for groceries or a quick espresso without it being a whole production. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself lingering over morning coffee, planning your day without feeling rushed to “see everything.” And honestly, at this price point in this location, with an 8.6 rating from actual guests, you’re getting remarkable value for money.

Reviews of Cittadella Modern Studio – Pet friendly!

  • Jame from United States – 30 September 2024 (9/10)

Spacious apartment with great lighting! Like having a washing machine and a drying rack! Location was great, between the train station and the main city area.

  • Alexandra from Russia – 23 August 2024 (8/10)

The location is great, it is reachable within ten minutes from both, the train station and the arena.
Windows open to a side street and to the inside courtyard. Very calm and quiet.
The airconditioning is available, which provides a respite throughout summer heat.
As a nice surprise, two cushions are provided in the flat if you visit verona during the opera festival.
Checkin – out procedure is very simple.

What could be improved: Almost all plates had cracks or were chipped.
The clothes hangers were not enough and their quality was poor.
As there was a lot of stuff in the flat, that stuff collected dust.
It is understable that opera festival season attracts many tourists, but for the price over 100€ a night more care could be given to the state of the flat

  • Nancy from Italy – 25 March 2024 (9/10)

The apartment was very quiet. All the essentials plus some extras were present (coffee, salt, oil, bathroom amenities). The location was between the train station and the centre of town. Lots of drawers and closet space and a good air conditioning unit.

What could be improved: There were no dish towels in the kitchen. The shower had a curtain instead of glass doors all around. But these were minor inconveniences.

  • Zuzana from Slovakia – 26 February 2024 (9/10)

All was very good. Very comfortable and silent flat. There was nothing missing in the kitchen.

What could be improved: For guest arriving by plane, there could be at least minimal toiletries – shower gel or soap.

  • Marisa from Australia – 26 September 2023 (9/10)

    Very nice & good location

What could be improved: No air conditioning, nowhere to put soap in shower.

  • Mariana from Brazil – 11 June 2023 (9/10)

Everything was beautiful! Close to everything and Giulia was so Kind.

What could be improved: We just couldn't turn on the stove but I think it eas our fault to not undarstand The instructions

  • Helen from Australia – 30 May 2023 (9/10)

Compact, clean, comfortable and close to old town. all crockery, cutlery supplied. Easy access for keys to apartment. Any questions asked were replied to promptly.

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike

  • James from United States – 14 May 2023 (9/10)

Very clean, and comfortable. Great location. Close enough to everything but far enough away from tourist areas to be quiet.

What could be improved: Nothing… we really enjoyed our stay in Verona.

  • Eleni from Netherlands – 30 October 2022 (9/10)

The cleanliness, the amenities, the location and the staff. Very welcoming and flexible!

What could be improved: Very minor things: A place to leave your shampoo in the shower for example. Maybe consider in the future a little bit better bed.

  • Nada from Belgium – 26 August 2022 (9/10)

Great location and wonderful staff. Very clean and cosu!
