Al 18 Verona Rooms Overview

You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first booked Al 18 Verona Rooms – the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, and I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star place. But man, sometimes the best discoveries come from those unassuming spots that don’t try too hard to impress you upfront. This little gem actually turned out to be one of those places where everything just works, even if it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in Verona.

The rooms themselves are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple” – clean lines, decent-sized beds that don’t leave you hanging off the edge, and honestly, better lighting than half the expensive places I’ve stayed at. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night, which is sort of a miracle when you’re dealing with Italian streets that can get pretty lively. The staff has this relaxed, genuine vibe that makes check-in feel more like stopping by a friend’s place than dealing with hotel bureaucracy. I mean, the guy at reception actually remembered my name the second day, which sounds small but somehow made the whole stay feel more personal. The bathrooms are compact but functional – hot water comes fast, good water pressure, and they’ve got that European efficiency thing down where everything has its place without feeling cramped.

What I really appreciate about this place is that it doesn’t oversell itself, but it delivers on what matters. The 8.2 rating makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it nails the fundamentals that business travelers and tourists actually care about. WiFi works throughout the building (I tested it, trust me), the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, and the beds are firm enough that you’re not sinking into some marshmallow situation. There’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on getting the basics right rather than loading you up with amenities you’ll never use. Plus, the location puts you within walking distance of the main sights without the premium pricing that comes with being right in the tourist chaos – you get that sweet spot where you can actually sleep at night but still grab morning coffee and be exploring within minutes.

Reviews of Al 18 Verona Rooms

  • Clara from Czech Republic – 5 March 2025 (9/10)

The place was spacious and clean and in a great area, you can easily walk everywhere from the place.

What could be improved: There were only two coffee modules for the espresso machine and we were two people for two days so there should be 4.

    It was central

What could be improved: The door lock was definitely faulty and we had to call someone to let us in at 10.30pm. The man who came had to twist the door, knob round several times before attempting to unlock the door.
