Appartamento Tosca Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Via Dietro Filippini feels like stepping into a Verona postcard — you know, the kind where medieval buildings lean in close and cobblestones catch the afternoon light just right. That’s where you’ll find Appartamento Tosca, tucked into the historical center in a way that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The building itself has that weathered Italian charm that can’t be faked, and honestly, the entrance gives you a taste of what’s to come — intimate, authentic, and refreshingly unpretentious for a three-star property.
Location & Neighborhood
I mean, the location here is pretty much unbeatable if you want to experience Verona like a local rather than just another tourist. You’re literally in the heart of everything — I could walk to Juliet’s balcony in about five minutes, and the Arena di Verona is practically around the corner. What I really appreciated though was how the narrow streets around Appartamento Tosca stay lively well into the evening, with little wine bars and trattorias that locals actually frequent. Couples seem to get this particularly well (they rate the location 9.6, which honestly doesn’t surprise me), because there’s something romantic about wandering these medieval lanes together, especially when you can just duck back to your apartment whenever you need a break from sightseeing.
The Apartment Experience
This isn’t your typical hotel setup — it’s more like staying in a friend’s well-appointed apartment, which actually works really well if you’re planning to spend more than just a night or two in Verona. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, with thoughtful touches that make you want to settle in properly. You’ll have room to spread out your things, and there’s something satisfying about having a bit more independence than you’d get in a standard hotel room. The furnishings strike that sweet spot between comfort and character — nothing too fancy, but everything feels right for the setting.
Practical Comforts
What surprised me was how well the practical stuff works here. The Wi-Fi actually delivers (always a concern in these old buildings), and the heating keeps things cozy during Verona’s cooler months. The kitchen setup means you can grab fresh ingredients from the morning markets and actually do something with them, which is half the fun of staying somewhere with local character. Small details matter too — good water pressure, decent lighting for reading, and windows that open properly so you can hear the city waking up in the morning.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about Appartamento Tosca that just clicks with people who want to experience Verona rather than just see it. The 8.8 rating reflects what I found — it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does offer feels genuine and well-executed. You’re staying in a real neighborhood where people live and work, not some tourist bubble, and that makes all the difference when you’re exploring one of Italy’s most romantic cities. It’s the kind of place that makes you think about extending your stay, which is probably the best compliment you can give any accommodation.
Locals suggest to book apartments in Verona near the Arena for bakeries, wine bars, and easy walks to Castelvecchio.

Amazing location. Everything is within walking distance. We traveled with kids, ages 5 and 9 and didnt have any difficulties walking around and checking all amenities. Apartment is very tidy, with all appliances that you might need. Parking is 5min walking away and its very easy to reach.
