I remember pulling up to Anastasia Suites on Corso Sant’Anastasia – you know, that charming little street right in Verona’s historical center, tucked away from the main tourist drag but close enough that you can hear the faint echo of bells from the Duomo if the wind’s right. It’s one of those spots where the cobblestones underfoot feel like they’ve got stories to tell, and honestly, arriving there after a long drive from Milan felt like stepping into a postcard. The building itself is this elegant old palazzo, sort of understated with its wrought-iron balconies and faded frescoes peeking out from the walls – nothing flashy, but it screams authentic Verona. Check-in was a breeze; the owner, this warm Italian guy named Marco (I think?), greeted me with a genuine smile and a quick espresso, chatting about how the place used to be a noble family’s residence back in the day. No stuffy front desk vibe here – it felt more like crashing at a friend’s stylish apartment. And parking? Well, it’s tricky in this pedestrian zone; I ended up leaving the car at the nearby Garage Italia on Via della Costa (about a five-minute walk), but they hooked me up with a discount voucher, which saved me a headache during peak season when the streets get jammed with festival-goers.

What really won me over, though, were the suites themselves – spacious, with these high ceilings and exposed wooden beams that make you feel like you’re living in history without sacrificing comfort. My room overlooked a quiet courtyard, and mornings started with the smell of fresh cornetti wafting up from the bakery on Via Cappello (yeah, that’s the street with Juliet’s balcony just a stone’s throw away – romantic, right? But skip the crowds by going early). The bed was ridiculously comfy, all crisp linens and plush pillows, and the bathroom had this massive rain shower that was a godsend after wandering around the Arena or shopping on Via Mazzini. It’s not perfect, mind you – the stone floors can be a bit chilly underfoot in winter, and if you’re a light sleeper, you might catch the occasional scooter buzzing by at night, but earplugs sorted that out for me. Oh, and the Wi-Fi is spot-on, which mattered when I was planning day trips to Lake Garda. They even have a little communal kitchen area where you can grab a glass of local Valpolicella – nothing fancy, just a thoughtful touch that makes you linger. During quieter months like November, it’s blissfully peaceful, away from the summer hordes, though summer evenings on the rooftop terrace (did I mention that? It’s got views over the rooftops) are magic if you time it right.

All in all, if you’re after a place that feels like a genuine slice of Verona life rather than some cookie-cutter hotel, Anastasia Suites is it. It’s got that 9.4 rating for a reason – the staff’s insider tips on hidden osterias around Piazza delle Erbe turned my trip from good to unforgettable. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially for a weekend escape with someone special; just pack comfortable shoes for all that walking, and maybe book ahead in July when the opera festival turns the whole city into a stage. You won’t regret it, I promise.

  Struttura di recentissima ristrutturazione. L'abbinamento di scale in tufo e soffitti in legno antichi e finemente restaurati, di boiserie in legno e arredamento moderno curato in ogni dettaglio, con una bellissima jacuzzi e cromoterapia in camera, è davvero riuscito, wow! Inoltre, il fatto di avere una sola suite privata per piano, raggiungibile con ascensore, trasmette un senso di privacy di altissimo livello. Dobbiamo tornarci presto!

  La nostra suite è stata al di sopra di ogni nostra aspettativa: accogliente, nuovissima, ottimo stile di arredo, con una bellissima vasca idromassaggio in camera con cromoterapia, spettacolare. La sua posizione super centrale sul Corso di Santa Anastasia, vicinissima alla piazza delle Erbe, ci siamo sentiti coccolati in ogni momento, non mancava davvero nulla, tutto perfetto. Ritorneremo sicuramente presto e magari anche per più giorni. Grazie alla signora Federica, che ha sempre risposto alle nostre domande tempestivamente. 🤩

  Bellissimo, accogliente e raffinato nel cuore di Verona, questo è il posto perfetto! La posizione è imbattibile: centralissima a pochi passi da Piazza delle Erbe e dall’Arena. Le camere sono curate nei minimi dettagli, eleganti e dotate di ogni comfort. Lo staff rende il soggiorno ancora più speciale, sempre disponibili a dare consigli preziosi su cosa vedere e dove mangiare. Un’esperienza da ripetere assolutamente!
