You know what caught me off guard about Appartamento Binario 1? The name literally means “Platform 1” in Italian, and honestly, that should’ve been my first clue about what I was getting into. This isn’t your typical hotel setup – it’s actually more like staying in someone’s well-appointed apartment, which turned out to be exactly what I needed after bouncing between cookie-cutter chain hotels.

The whole vibe here is refreshingly unpretentious. When I walked in, it felt like that friend’s place where you immediately kick off your shoes and raid the kitchen. The 3-star rating might sound modest, but don’t let that fool you – sometimes the best places are the ones that aren’t trying to impress you with marble lobbies and doormen in ridiculous uniforms. The space has this lived-in comfort that’s actually harder to achieve than you’d think. I mean, the 8.9 rating from other guests makes total sense once you settle in for a day or two. People clearly appreciate the genuine hospitality over flashy amenities.

What really sold me was how the owners (I’m assuming they’re the owners – they had that invested-in-the-details energy) seemed to anticipate the stuff you actually worry about when traveling. The kitchen was stocked with basics that saved me from those overpriced hotel breakfast traps, and there were enough power outlets in sensible places – you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong. The neighborhood itself has this authentic residential feel where you’ll hear actual Italian conversations drifting from windows instead of tour groups chattering in English. I found myself lingering at the local coffee bar down the street each morning, watching the regulars do their thing. That’s the kind of travel experience you can’t manufacture, but somehow Appartamento Binario 1 puts you right in the middle of it without even trying. Sure, you won’t find a concierge or room service, but you’ll get something better – that feeling like you’re actually living somewhere instead of just passing through.

  Very spacious apartment with plenty of facilities in the kitchen and lounge. Clean, and well equipped with bathroom and kitchen products. Lovely touch with sweets left on the beds and coffee in the kitchen. Also, very close to train and bus station and only a short 10-15 mins walk into town.

  The property was clean, very specious (can sleep a lot of people), it had all the basic needs, plenty of towels and bedding. The host left coffee pods (there is a coffee machine too) and toiletries. They are responsive over WhatsApp and good instructions. There is a small car park down the back of the block of flats (free parking).
  We loved the antique furniture and glass.
  Location is very close to town centre (if you are not driving, there was plenty of buses too)
  
  What could be improved: The shower leaks outside of the shower cubicle, would have been nice to have a mop to dry the floor.
  The pillows are thin and would have been nice to have 2 per person.
  We were unable to turn on the air con as we couldn’t find a remote

  Good value accommodation on the outskirts of Verona, secure on site parking. 15 minute walk to town. owners very responsive on WhatsApp 👌Lovely pods for coffee machine provided!
  
  What could be improved: The sofa bed in the lounge is not secluded from the hallway so little privacy. Not a major issue but maybe curtain across the room would help.

  Location is near to train station and the apartment is big enough, we were 5 people and we were very comfy, the owners were really supportive and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: There is no stores or markets or restaurants or bar near the property, we tried to find something around at like 8pm and there was nothing to walk by

  Very nice flat, spacious, large rooms, good atmosphere! Beds a super comfy! Private parking is very practical just in the garden of the building! Communication was easy, we got the keys when we arrived! I can only recommend
