I found myself walking different routes each day, discovering little cafes and shops that weren’t packed with tour groups. The local bakery nearby (I can’t remember the exact name, but it’s maybe a three-minute walk) had these incredible cornetti that became my daily ritual. And here’s something practical – parking in this area is so much more manageable than trying to navigate the historic center with a car. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward key-passing or waiting around that you sometimes get with apartment rentals. Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with luxury amenities or concierge services, but that 9.3 rating isn’t accidental. It’s the kind of place that just works really well for what it is – a comfortable, well-located base that gives you space to breathe and genuinely experience the city rather than just passing through it.
