The whole setup is refreshingly straightforward. It’s an apartment-style accommodation, which means you get that lived-in authenticity that cookie-cutter hotel rooms just can’t match. The space has character – and I don’t mean that in the polite way people say it when a place is falling apart. I’m talking about actual charm, like the kind of worn wooden floors that tell stories and windows that frame the city in ways that make you want to linger with your morning coffee. The kitchen setup is particularly nice if you’re the type who likes to grab fresh ingredients from local markets (and trust me, you’ll want to in this city). There’s something satisfying about being able to prepare a simple meal with ingredients you picked up wandering the streets.

What really impressed me was how the place manages to feel both comfortable and authentically Italian without trying too hard. The 8.5 rating makes perfect sense once you settle in – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be. The neighborhood vibe seeps right through the walls in the best possible way. You’ll hear the gentle hum of daily life, maybe some animated conversations drifting up from the street, but it never feels intrusive. Actually, it adds to the whole experience of feeling like a temporary local rather than a tourist passing through. The check-in process was refreshingly personal too – none of that sterile front desk formality, more like someone showing you around their place and making sure you know where everything is. Little touches like that make a difference when you’re trying to settle into a new city. If you’re looking for marble bathrooms and room service, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a genuine base for exploring Verona that feels authentic and comfortable without breaking the bank, Appartamento Scaligero gets it right in all the ways that actually matter.

  It is a big apartment, very comfortable and clean. The kitchen/living room is in the middle of the apartment, so we have privacy in the bedrooms.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment is not in the old city center, but it was not a problem for us. It has more than one supermarket very close and a lot of parking spots around.

  This is a good option for family travel. The kitchen was equipped adequately. There is convenient shopping nearby. The rooms are furnished well and nicely decorated.
