Casa di Giulia Overview
First Impressions
Casa di Giulia sits on a quiet residential street that feels refreshingly removed from Verona’s tourist crowds, yet you’re actually just minutes from the historic center. The three-star property occupies a converted villa that immediately feels more like staying at a well-appointed Italian home than a standard hotel. What struck me first was how the owners have managed to preserve that authentic residential character — you know, the kind of place where locals might actually live — while still providing all the essentials modern travelers expect.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about Via Sommacampagna: it’s genuinely residential, so you get a real sense of how Veronese people live their daily lives. The location consistently earns high marks from guests, and honestly, I can see why couples especially appreciate it — there’s something romantic about walking these tree-lined streets in the evening. You’ve got free parking right on site, which is actually a huge deal in Verona where finding a spot near the center can be a nightmare. The historic attractions are close enough to reach easily, but far enough that you escape the constant stream of tour groups.
The Rooms & Comfort
The accommodations at Casa di Giulia feel thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter corporate. My room had that lived-in Italian elegance — well-chosen furniture, good lighting, and those small touches that suggest someone actually cares about your comfort. The bathrooms are modern and functional, though not flashy, which honestly suits the overall vibe perfectly. What I appreciated most was the attention to practical details: proper reading lights, enough outlets, and windows that actually open to let in fresh air (something you don’t always get in Italian hotels).
The Neighborhood Experience
This part of Verona gives you access to authentic local life that most tourists miss entirely. There’s a small market nearby where residents do their daily shopping, and I found a couple of neighborhood trattorias that serve the kind of unpretentious, delicious food that locals actually eat. The streets are walkable and safe, even in the evening, and you’ll often see families out for their evening passeggiata. It’s the sort of area where you can grab fresh bread in the morning and feel like you’re experiencing real Italian daily life, not just the postcard version.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.2 guest rating really reflects what Casa di Giulia does well — it delivers a genuine, comfortable experience without trying to be something it’s not. You’re not paying for marble lobbies or concierge services, but you are getting a clean, welcoming place to stay with owners who clearly care about their property. The combination of that residential location, reliable free parking, and authentic neighborhood feel creates something that’s become increasingly rare in popular Italian destinations. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax and feel like you’re living in Verona for a few days, rather than just passing through.

Nice place, nice room, very kind host, daily clean room
Edie from Portugal – 16 October 2024 (8/10)
It had everything you need and it was very clean. The breakfast options were varied and plenty. The host was lovely. It is right on a bus line, it stops practically at the door.
What could be improved: It was a bit far from the old center and attractions. But again, the bus was easy from the train station (#24) to casa Giulia and getting to the center was easy except Sundays (I think). Definitely not deal breaker.John from United Kingdom – 15 October 2024 (9/10)
very well thought about and very good all round. One feels very welcome.

The house was amazing with a lot of treats to make you feel home. Very private and quiet. Parking is close by and the host is very responsive and nice. Wished I could stay more days there instead of other places I have been
Irene from Belgium – 19 August 2024 (9/10)
Loved it. Quiet area, Large parking in the back and large lovely bedroom. Despite the terrible traffic that took us 4 more hours to arrive, the lady was waiting for us. Bfast included, everything already packed and for us was perfect coz we left very early the following day and we took it with us.
Too bad it’s a one-day stop on our way back to Belgium, but when we’ll get back to Verona, I’ll certainly choose Casa di Giulia.Magda from Poland – 7 August 2024 (10/10)
It was very clean and had all we needed. Perfect for a one night stay to see Verona. The city centre max 10min away by car, location felt safe.
What could be improved: Everything was nice.Vahur from Austria – 20 November 2023 (10/10)

Ludmila from Switzerland – 7 August 2023 (10/10)
The rooms were extremely clean, friendly staff, they take care of every detail. Rooms are big, paceful place, close to the city of Verona. Simply exceptional.
What could be improved: Nothing, every was perfect.
, but if i have to say something, i would add chocolate powder to the breakfast 🙃 just a minimum detail and not important.
