I actually appreciated that they didn’t go overboard with the Romeo and Juliet theme like some places in town do – instead, there’s just this sophisticated nod to Verona’s cultural heritage in the details. The beds were incredibly comfortable (I’m talking deep sleep after those long opera nights), and the bathrooms had this gorgeous marble that probably cost more than my car.

During the day, you’re right in the thick of everything – Via Mazzini’s shopping district is literally around the corner, and Piazza delle Erbe with all its bustling cafes is an easy stroll. But somehow, once you’re back in the hotel, the noise just melts away. I think it’s something about the way the building is positioned, tucked into one of those quiet side streets that locals use as shortcuts. The staff – and I can’t stress this enough – actually seem to enjoy their jobs. They’ll remember your name after one conversation, recommend restaurants that aren’t tourist traps, and somehow always appear right when you need them without hovering. That 9.6 rating? Yeah, I get it now. It’s not just about fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies. It’s about creating this perfect home base for exploring one of Italy’s most romantic cities, where every detail feels thoughtfully considered rather than just expensive for the sake of it.   This was, by some distance, the best apartment we've stayed in during our many years of travel. Everything about the apartment was superb and we couldn't recommend it highly enough. It is a short walk from Piazza Bra and the wonderful Arena. Lara, our host's contact person, was excellent and the communication before and during our stay was perfect.
