B&B Silvia Overview

You know what caught me off guard about B&B Silvia? It’s one of those places that just feels right the moment you walk in – and honestly, that’s not something I say about most three-star places. The owners (I’m pretty sure it was Silvia herself who checked me in) have this way of making you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s house rather than just another booking number.

The rooms are exactly what you’d expect from a solid B&B – clean, comfortable, with that slightly old-fashioned charm that actually works in its favor. I mean, sure, the WiFi could be stronger and the shower pressure isn’t going to blow you away, but there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on the basics and does them well. The bed was surprisingly good actually – I slept like a rock, which doesn’t always happen when I’m traveling. And the breakfast… well, let’s just say I understood why other guests were lingering over their coffee way past checkout time. It’s not fancy, but it’s made with care, and you can taste the difference.

What really sets this place apart though is the attention to detail that you only notice when you’ve stayed at enough places to know what’s missing elsewhere. Fresh towels that actually smell fresh, not just clean. A reading light positioned where you can actually read. Little touches like that extra blanket folded at the foot of the bed – you know, the kind of stuff that makes you think someone actually stays in these rooms themselves and knows what matters. The 7.9 rating makes perfect sense to me because while it’s not going to win any luxury awards, it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. I’ve stayed at supposedly higher-end places that left me more frustrated than this little B&B ever did. Sometimes you just want a place where everything works, the people are genuinely nice, and you can get a good night’s sleep without breaking the bank – and that’s exactly what Silvia’s delivers.

  The hotel is a bit outside Verona, but it is easy to get there even if you don't have a car (I didn't). The bus stop is right outside the hotel. The room and facilities were clean.
  
  The staff was also very helpful. They helped me ordering food by phone, and had good recommendations.
  
  What could be improved: The wifi is weak in the rooms. At least in the one I stayed in.
  
  Be aware that B&B Silvia is the same as hotel la grotta, so you do not get confused when you get there.

  It is actually a hotel and it is so good, so much better than I expect as I booked for a hostel. For this price to get a 3-4 star hotel room, it is absolutely worth it.
  
  What could be improved: The breakfast price is too high so I did not buy it. It takes only 20 minutes for a bus ride from Verona train station to the hotel, yet at night there is a limited bus ride. Furthermore, the location is a little outside of the city (feels urban) so if you arrive after 11 pm, you should take a taxi if you travel alone.
  Another note, the B&B Silvia is actually the Hotel La Grotta, next to the fitness center. If you follow Google Maps to search for B&B Silvia, you'll be definitely lost. I really hope the hotel manager should change the name on the booking site.

  Stanza spaziosa con terrazzo, bagno finestrato con ampia doccia. Parcheggio privato, possibilità di fare la colazione all'hotel a fianco.
  Google Maps mi ha dato indicazioni stradali non precise, me lo segnalava dalla parte opposta della strada; per arrivare bisogna entrare nel cancello dell'hotel la Grotta (il B&B è di fianco). Si trova su una strada principale e si sente un po' di rumore del traffico, però la vista dalla finestra è sulla campagna.
