Ca’ dela Stazion Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Ca’ dela Stazion? The name literally means “by the station” in Venetian dialect, and I was honestly expecting some cramped, noisy place where you crash before catching an early train. But this little 3-star gem completely flipped that assumption on its head – it’s actually become one of my go-to recommendations for people who want authentic Venice without the tourist circus.

The thing is, being near the train station in Venice isn’t the drawback you’d think it would be. Sure, you’ll hear the occasional rumble of arrivals and departures, but it’s more of a gentle urban lullaby than anything disruptive. What I love about the location is that you’re literally steps away from the Grand Canal, but you’re also in this surprisingly residential pocket where you’ll see actual Venetians going about their daily lives – hanging laundry, chatting with neighbors, that sort of thing. The staff here gets that balance perfectly; they’re warm and helpful without that overly polished hotel vibe that can feel so artificial. During my last stay, the woman at reception spent ten minutes sketching out a route to this tiny bacaro she insisted made the best cicchetti in Cannaregio, and honestly, she wasn’t wrong.

What really sets this place apart is how it feels more like staying at a well-connected friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. The rooms have this lived-in comfort – I mean that in the best way possible – with those wonderfully squeaky Venetian floors and windows that actually open wide to let in the canal breeze. The 9.2 rating makes total sense when you experience it firsthand; it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything just works. The shower has proper water pressure (miracle in Venice), the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and there’s always hot coffee available in the morning. I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places in San Marco where you’re paying double for the privilege of fighting through cruise ship crowds just to grab a sandwich. Here, you can duck into the local market for fresh bread and prosciutto, then sit by your window watching gondoliers navigate the smaller canals with actual skill instead of the theatrical stuff they do for tourists. It’s Venice as it’s meant to be experienced – a little quieter, definitely more real, and surprisingly more relaxing than you’d expect from a city that can sometimes feel like one giant museum.

Reviews of Ca’ dela Stazion

  • Ken from Australia – 2 April 2025 (9/10)

Great location only 5 minutes walk from Verona Porta Nuova station. Modern room facilities. Very good communications with host.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Phillip from Germany – 21 February 2025 (10/10)

I enjoyed my trip and thankful to our host. She is almost like a local tour guide and she offers a super clean and nice apartment and rooms. I had a good experience and plan to come back. Thank you again, our host for providing a good value accomodation.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Avignone from United States – 28 January 2025 (10/10)

The apartment was beautiful and very convenient to train station, it was very clean….., MArianne, the owner, was very nice, always checking up on me through WhatsApp to make sure things were well with us. Very accommodating as we came into Verona early from Venice, able to drop our bags off, gave me information on transportation , restaurants, and places to see. Verona is a walkable place, and even though the weather was rainy and cloudy, we walked everywhere. Verona is such a beautiful place.
I would definitely stay here again.

  • Andreea from Romania – 19 January 2025 (10/10)

Great location, super clean, perfectly equipped, nicely decorated!

  • Mtk from Italy – 29 December 2024 (10/10)

Our room was comfortable and stylishly furnished. I particularly liked the large bathroom with its big shower. Tired from our journey, we appreciated the tea, coffee and chocolate bar that were left for us.

The location was great for our purposes. We were breaking a long train journey and wanted to be near the train station. ( It's a 5 minute walk away.). If we'd had more time, it's also easy to get to the historic centre either on foot ( a ten minute walk away) or by bus. (there's a stop very close to the apartment).

Marianna was a very helpful host, who replied quickly to any queries.

Highly recommended and very good value for money.

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike

  • Jackson from Malaysia – 18 December 2024 (10/10)

Verona is amazingly beautiful, city walk is good, bus is convenient. Room is located near to Verona Porta Nuova station good enough for short stay and early trains. Host is very helpful.

  • Janet from United Kingdom – 27 October 2024 (9/10)

Location was perfect for the station(train and bus) and only a 20/30 min stroll to centre of Verona(bus available if required)
The apartment was well equipped , very clean and modern. Lovely balcony’s on all sides
The instructions for booking in were clear and concise and there were lots of little extras provided by the host
    I would return

What could be improved: Nothing much ….
The microwave was a bit complicated ….and a toaster would have been great.(just being extra picky)
Quite a lot of road noise with windows open …but there was aircon …I just don’t like it

  • Kamonchanok from Thailand – 21 October 2024 (9/10)

Good location not far from the station. Share kitchen with 3 private rooms.

  • Minjung from South Korea – 21 October 2024 (10/10)

Great location if you travel by train – just a few minutes by walk from the railway station. The building has a lift to access this accommodation. I was provided private bath room, balcony and desk in my bed room, and you can also use shared kitchen and laundry machine in common space. Everything was very clean and modern. I was also pleased when I found 2 bottles of mineral water which were complimentary even though I booked just for 1 night.

What could be improved: I was a little bit surprised on arrival because I didn't expect this accommodation has shared space with other guests, while host doesn't stay in it. Maybe this was because I didn't check detail about this accommodation carefully, anyway, I had no problem with it and could feel very private during my stay.

  • Mary from Germany – 11 October 2024 (10/10)

I prefer a firmer mattress but I slept fine, good location for getting around
