Casa di Gina Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Casa di Gina on Via Isonzo, you immediately get the sense that this isn’t your typical hotel. It’s tucked away in the Borgo Trento neighborhood — honestly, one of Verona’s best-kept secrets for travelers who want to feel like locals rather than tourists. The building itself has this understated Italian elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, which I actually appreciate. You know what struck me most? How quiet it is here, despite being so well-connected to everything you’d want to see.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Borgo Trento is where you want to be if you’re planning a romantic getaway — and trust me, couples have figured this out. The area has this residential charm where you’ll see Italian families going about their daily routines, kids playing in small piazzas, and that authentic neighborhood feel that’s getting harder to find. From here, you can easily walk to the historic center, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear tour groups chattering outside your window at dawn. There’s a little market just around the corner where locals shop for fresh produce, and I mean, that’s the kind of detail that makes a trip memorable.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance — modern amenities without losing that Italian character. The beds are seriously comfortable (something you don’t always get at four-star properties), and the bathrooms are updated with good water pressure. What I loved most was the attention to small details: quality linens, proper lighting for reading, and windows that actually open to let in that fresh Veneto air. The soundproofing is excellent too, which matters when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag or recover from a day of exploring.
Daily Rhythms
Mornings here feel relaxed in a way that sets the right tone for your day. The staff — and this might sound cliché but it’s true — genuinely seem to care about making your stay work. They’ll give you directions that locals would use, not just the tourist routes. The breakfast setup is thoughtful without being overwhelming, focusing on quality Italian staples rather than an endless buffet of mediocre options. I actually found myself looking forward to starting each day there, which doesn’t always happen when you’re staying somewhere new.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about Casa di Gina — it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The location consistently gets praise because it strikes that sweet spot between accessibility and authenticity. You’re close enough to walk to Juliet’s balcony or the Arena di Verona, but you’re staying in a neighborhood where real Veronese people live and work. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you experience how everything just… works. No drama, no disappointments, just solid hospitality in a city that can sometimes feel overrun with tourism. For couples especially, there’s something about the peaceful evenings and easy mornings that makes this place stick in your memory long after you’ve left.

Everything from start to finish was absolutely perfect. A wonderful apartment that held so much nostalgia for us for so many reasons right in the heart of the city with a supermarket, cafes & restaurants right on your doorstep, and a 15 minute max walk to the sights around the city. The apartment had absolutely everything we needed and was so warm, with lots of space and two bathrooms (!) there is also a small balcony if you want to make use of it. The check in experience was so smooth and the host was extremely kind; we were allowed to check in early due to our flight arrival time, and we were allowed to leave our luggage in the apartment after checking out until our taxi to the airport on departure; this helped us a lot. We all had such a wonderful stay here, and I would recommend this place to absolutely anybody visiting Verona in the future – we can’t wait to come back!

Great apartment, quiet, clean, I felt at home from the first moment, close to the city center .

A beautiful apartment in an excellent location. 10 minute walk from the Arena and really close to the river. The host kindly allowed us to get in to the room early when we arrived and he showed us around. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The kitchen was fully equipped and we had everything we needed.
What could be improved: The balcony is extremely small, on one side is a large cupboard and on the other side the air con heat pump. In hot weather, to be sat next to the heat pump is uncomfortable, it's fine for a quick bit of breakfast or a drink in the evening.Rodney from Canada – 1 August 2024 (10/10)
Casa du Gina is the most exceptional place we have ever stayed. It was more than enough space for us, exceptionally clean, and beautifully furnished. It was homey and comforting, with a very well equipped kitchen. It is also located extremely close to a grocery store, and in a very nice location overall. We will not hesitate to visit again. Thank you sincerely for a wonderful experience.

The apartment was beautiful, comfortable & impressive. Each room was decorated with charm & history, with furniture antiques. Even the pictures on the walls were awesome. It was very clean, spacious with large bedrooms, two bathrooms & a sofa bed. The location was ideal. The management was friendly & professional. My family & I would definitely stay there again. The City of Verona was wonderful.
I loved it! ❤️

Casa di Gina is a unique, glamorous, cozy place to stay in Verona, perfectly located to discover this wonderful destination. The communication with the owner was easy, and it was great that he was there to hand over the keys. I hope to return and highly recommend staying here. The kitchen is fully equipped for those who would want it — and a big PAM grocery store nearby — AND there is a washing machine! Very grateful for my stay.
