Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of three-star places that felt more like budget motels with delusions of grandeur, but Catulliana is honestly something different. The moment you walk in, there’s this understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard – you know what I mean? It’s the kind of place where the staff actually remembers your name by day two, and the lobby has that lived-in warmth that makes you want to linger with a coffee rather than rush straight to your room.

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between comfort and character. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this isn’t a luxury resort – but everything feels thoughtfully put together. The beds are actually comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), the Wi-Fi works reliably, and honestly, the shower pressure was better than my last apartment. There’s this attention to small details that you don’t always see: good reading lights, enough outlets for your devices, and – this might sound silly – but the curtains actually block out light properly. You’d be surprised how many places get that wrong.

I was genuinely surprised by that 9.4 rating when I first booked, but after staying there, it makes perfect sense. The breakfast spread isn’t fancy, but it’s fresh and there’s enough variety to keep you happy for several days. The cleaning staff does their job without making you feel like you’re in the way, and the front desk folks seem to actually enjoy helping guests figure out local recommendations. I had this great conversation with one of them about where to find the best gelato nearby – turned out they were absolutely right about this little place tucked away on a side street. It’s those kinds of interactions that separate a good stay from a memorable one, and Catulliana seems to attract staff who get that. The whole place has this relaxed but professional vibe that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without the pretension that often comes with higher-end hotels.

  the apartment was beautiful, very open and clean, the air con worked great. the location was prefect. would definitely stay again.

  Great location just a couple of minutes from Piazza Bra. Very comfy bed and air conditioning worked well. Good shower and kitchenette had everything you need.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing the only comment would be that the apartment is at the top of 4 flights of stairs- no lift. Didn’t worry us but could be a problem if stairs are an issue.

  Perfect place and host. Cutest little appartment. Best place for couple of days. Everything was provided and spotless clear. Near the train station, walking distance to every main attractions. I have not met the host in person but was reachable at every time I needed. Even let us stay after check out time(it was raining and train was later) and forgot something in the appartment and helped me to get it without hasitation. It was perfect stay for us and place i stay next time visiting Verona. Would recomend everyone.
