Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to Charme on the Bridge – City Center after a long drive from Lake Garda, and honestly, the first thing that hit me was how it just blends right into that quiet corner of Borgo Trento. It’s on Via Tonale, you know, that street that runs parallel to the Adige River, and it’s literally steps from Ponte della Vittoria – the bridge that gets you over to Verona’s historic heart in like five minutes on foot. I mean, I parked in one of those metered spots nearby (pro tip: arrive before 8 PM if you want to avoid the evening rush, as parking can be a bit of a squeeze in this residential area), and the check-in was a breeze – the front desk guy, Marco I think his name was, chatted about the best gelato spot on Lungadige San Giorgio while handing over the keys. No fuss, no long lines, just that warm Italian welcome that makes you feel like you’re crashing at a friend’s place rather than a hotel.
What really sold me on this spot – it’s a solid 4-star with a 9.2 rating for good reason – was how it nails that mix of charm and practicality without trying too hard. The rooms? Ours had this cozy balcony overlooking the river, and in the mornings, you’d catch the faint scent of fresh bread from the bakery down on Via IV Novembre (grab a cornetto there if you’re an early riser – it’s worth the two-minute stroll). The bed was plush, like sinking into a cloud after traipsing around the Arena all day, and the bathroom had those nice rain showers that actually work without the usual European low-pressure drama. Oh, and the breakfast spread – well, it’s not massive, but the cappuccinos are spot-on, and they do these little tarts with local marmalade that pair perfectly with the view. It’s not dead silent at night, mind you – there’s a bit of traffic hum from the bridge, especially during Verona’s opera season in summer when tourists flood in – but earplugs sorted that out, and it beats staying in the noisier spots right by Piazza Bra. Plus, being in Borgo Trento means you’re away from the main tourist crush but close enough to wander over for dinner at one of those hidden osterias on Via Sottoriva, where the locals go for amatriciana that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg.
Look, if you’re heading to Verona – maybe for the romance of Juliet’s balcony or just to soak up that ancient Roman vibe – this place is a gem you shouldn’t overlook. It’s got that authentic feel, like it’s been there forever (though it’s modern inside), and at the end of the day, it left me thinking, yeah, I’d book it again in a heartbeat. Sure, it’s not the flashiest option out there, but for the price and that unbeatable spot bridging the quiet neighborhood vibes with the city’s buzz, it just works. You know what? Pack light, walk everywhere, and thank me later.

Ayelet from Israel – 21 September 2024 (8/10)
The location is very good, the apartement is big and clean.
What could be improved: The wifi didn’t worked at all. The owner was not responsive enough. The double bed in one of the rooms was not realy a double but a single that opened the frame extended beyond the matress and was uncomfortable.Kitty from Hong Kong – 21 September 2024 (9/10)
The apartment was well equioed, especially the kitchen equipments. It is clean and well decorated. Located in a quiet street with walking distance to the city centre.
What could be improved: At first we had difficulty turning on the gas stove and the oven, but later they worked. It would be better if clear instructions on how to use the equipments were given.
Paying for parking the car outside is also tricky. We have to ask the pedestrians for help.Saskia from Netherlands – 23 July 2024 (9/10)
