City Home Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to City Home on Corso Porta Nuova, you might actually miss it at first — it’s tucked into a classic Veronese building without any flashy signage. But honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star property sits right in Verona‘s historical center, and I mean really in the heart of it. You’re on the fourth floor (there’s an elevator, thank goodness), and the moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t your typical hotel experience.

Location That Actually Matters

Look, everyone says their hotel has a great location, but City Home’s spot is genuinely special. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Piazza delle Erbe — I timed it. The famous balcony everyone calls “Juliet’s” is practically around the corner, and you can reach the Arena di Verona in about five minutes on foot. What I really appreciated was how you’re close enough to everything that matters, but the street itself isn’t overrun with tour groups. Couples especially seem to love this area, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being tucked away on a quiet corso while still being steps from the main attractions.

The Space Itself

The apartment feels more like staying in a well-appointed Italian home than a standard hotel room. The ceilings are high — typical for these old Verona buildings — and there’s this nice mix of modern comfort with classic Italian touches. The kitchen is actually functional, not just decorative, which is rare in city center accommodations. I found myself making morning coffee there instead of rushing out to find a café, though honestly, with Bar Centrale just downstairs, you’ve got options either way.

What Makes It Work

The attention to detail here is what sets City Home apart from other places I’ve stayed in Verona’s center. Everything feels intentional — from the way the windows frame views of the surrounding medieval streets to how the space is laid out to feel larger than it actually is. The building itself has character (you know, the kind of thick walls and solid construction you don’t find in newer places), but they’ve managed to make it feel fresh and contemporary. Plus, having your own space means you can come and go as you please without dealing with hotel lobby schedules or crowds.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.8 rating isn’t just a number — you can feel why people rate this place so highly. It’s the combination of being genuinely central (not “central” like some places claim while being a 15-minute walk from anything interesting) with the comfort of having your own space. The fact that couples consistently give the location a perfect 10 tells you something about how this spot works for people who want to explore Verona on foot. You’re not just staying near the historical center — you’re actually living in it for a few days, and that makes all the difference when you’re trying to get a real feel for this city.

Erika la proprietaria super disponibile e gentile.
Gli ho fatto una richiesta per un mazzo di rose da far trovare dentro l’appartamento al nostro arrivo e ha lasciato a bocca aperta sia me che la mia compagna.

  • Myra from United States – 20 March 2024 (10/10)

Great location near old town and large parking garage. Short walk to all the main sites and many great restaurants. Lift/elevator to apartment. Large, clean, comfortable apartment with washing machine and drying rack. Greeted by nice hosts with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. Nice views over the piazza.

What could be improved: There is a bar/cafe on the street level of the building so it can be loud if you leave the windows open at night. Thankfully, noise blocked out if you close the windows.

Location, facilities, awesome sound system which plays in every room. Nice touches such as coffee and cold bottled water in the fridge. Well equipped kitchen, lovely sitting on the balcony watching the sunset. Able to leave our bags in a secure area and collect later in the day. Host was exceptionally helpful. Would highly recommend this apartment.

  • Chakarin from Switzerland – 21 April 2022 (9/10)

Excellent apartment.: spacious, tastsefully decorated, very friendly owner. centrally located.

What could be improved: Given it is in the center of Verona, parking is a bit of challenge.

  • Michael from Italy – 18 April 2022 (10/10)

Location was excellent, host received us with water in the fridge, an Easter gift and champagne. Everything that was supposed to be available was, so we were very happy about the place. And downstairs had an excellent place for breakfast, if you did not feel like preparing breakfast “at home”.
