Hotel Description
Oh man, I remember pulling up to Corte Realdi Verona on a drizzly afternoon last spring – you know, that time of year when the cherry blossoms are just starting to pop along the Adige River, but the tourists haven’t fully swarmed in yet. It’s tucked right on Via Roma, which is this lively street that cuts straight from the train station into the heart of the old town, so if you’re lugging bags from Porta Nuova (that’s the main station, about a 15-minute walk away), it’s a godsend. The entrance is on the primo piano – first floor up, in Italian terms – so there’s a quick flight of stairs, no elevator that I recall, which might be a hassle if you’ve got heavy luggage or mobility issues. But honestly, once you’re inside, it feels like stepping into one of those hidden gems Verona’s full of. The building’s got that classic Veneto vibe, with exposed brick and wooden beams that make you think of Romeo and Juliet era stuff – I mean, you’re literally a stone’s throw from Juliet’s House on Via Cappello, where all the love notes get plastered on the walls. My room overlooked the street, and yeah, there was some evening bustle from folks heading to dinner at those little osterias on nearby Via Mazzini, but the double-glazed windows kept the noise down to a murmur, like a gentle city hum that actually lulled me to sleep.
What really sold me on this place, though, was how it blends that old-world charm with just enough modern perks to make you feel pampered without going over the top. The staff – well, they’re mostly locals, and the front desk guy chatted with me about the best spot for a spritz at sunset (head to Piazza delle Erbe, he said, and avoid the tourist traps). Breakfast was a highlight: served in this cozy communal area with fresh pastries that smelled like they’d just come out of a bakery on Corso Porta Borsari, plus cappuccinos strong enough to kickstart a day of wandering. Rooms are on the snug side – mine had a queen bed that took up most of the space, and the bathroom was compact but spotless, with those fluffy towels that feel like a hug after a long day. Parking’s a nightmare in the historical center, as you’d expect; I ended up using a public garage a few blocks away on Via della Costa, which set me back about 20 euros a day, but the hotel can point you in the right direction. And during peak season, like July when the opera festival hits the Arena (it’s only a five-minute stroll from here), things get busier, so book early if you want a quieter vibe – though honestly, that’s part of Verona’s magic, that lively energy spilling out from the ancient amphitheater.
Look, if you’re chasing that authentic Italian escape, Corte Realdi’s the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve got a little piece of Verona all to yourself. It’s not flashy or anything – no infinity pool or spa (though there’s a small wellness area if you need it) – but it’s got heart, you know? Perfect for couples or solo travelers who want to dive into the city’s history without breaking the bank. I left feeling like I’d actually lived there for a bit, sipping espresso while watching the world go by, and that’s saying something in a place as enchanting as Verona. If you’re heading there, pack light and prepare to fall in love – just watch out for the cobblestones on those side streets; they can be brutal on your ankles after a gelato binge.

The breakfast is a little small and won't fill you up for the day, would recommend looking for breakfast elsewhere if you want to eat a lot

What could be improved: Chairs in room to st are old and uncomfortable.Claire from United Kingdom – 25 March 2025 (9/10)
Central location for exploring. Room had lovely view of castle opposite. Room very clean and comfortable. Special thanks to Chriza who was so helpful and suggested the best places to eat nearby and kept everything spotlessly clean.
What could be improved: Noise and music from cafe below was quite loud in the evenings but stopped before we wanted to go to sleep.
Locating the entrance to the accommodation was not initially that clear.Theodore from United States – 22 March 2025 (9/10)
Chriza was a delightful and very helpful hostess. Our room was wonderful with a view of the castle. Our breakfast consisted of a fine omelette, salad, mozzarella, coffee, and water. Good restaurants and shops all around us, and wonderful walks!

Accommodating was lovely. It was in a great location close to all places of interest. Lots of nice restaurants close by. We had a lovely breakfast in number 33.
What could be improved: The shower was small. It was close to the road could not leave a window open at night due to the traffic noise. Everything else was very good.Michal from Czech Republic – 6 March 2025 (9/10)
Very helpful staff. I accidentally did not mention the age of the children, it was no problem and they prepared a bigger bed. Great location, right in the center, bedroom window with a beautiful view. Possibility to park a car. We look forward to coming again and for more days. Accommodation and Verona are wonderful. Breakfast in a nearby cafe – amazing croissants
What could be improved: Nothing, just next time we'll stay longer. 🙂Peter from United States – 4 March 2025 (9/10)
