Domus Verona – Accogliente residenza Rocchetto a 25mt da Piazza Erbe Overview
You know what struck me first about Domus Verona – Accogliente residenza Rocchetto? The name literally tells you everything – it really is this incredibly welcoming residence tucked into one of those narrow medieval streets that makes Verona so magical. I mean, when they say 25 meters from Piazza Erbe, they’re not kidding around. You can practically roll out of bed and be at the morning market before the tour groups descend.
The location is honestly ridiculous – in the best possible way. I’ve stayed in plenty of places that claim to be “in the heart of everything,” but this one actually delivers. You’re literally a stone’s throw from those gorgeous frescoed buildings surrounding Piazza Erbe, and Casa di Giulietta is maybe a three-minute stroll if you’re walking slowly and stopping for gelato (which, let’s be honest, you will be). The street itself is one of those quintessential Veronese lanes where you can hear your footsteps echo off the ancient stones – atmospheric as hell, but surprisingly quiet at night since it’s just residential enough to avoid the late-night bar crowds.
What I really appreciated was how the place manages to feel authentically local rather than touristy, despite being right in the centro storico. The building has that weathered Venetian charm you’d expect from a 3-star property with an 8.4 rating – nothing fancy, but everything works and there’s genuine character in the details. The rooms are what Italians call “accogliente” for good reason; they’ve got this cozy, lived-in feeling that makes you want to actually unpack instead of living out of your suitcase. Honestly, after spending days wandering around Verona’s Roman ruins and climbing up to Castel San Pietro for sunset views, coming back here felt like retreating to a friend’s apartment rather than some sterile hotel room. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area – I’d recommend checking with them ahead of time since the ZTL restrictions in the historic center can catch you off guard if you’re driving. But really, once you’re settled in here, you barely need to go anywhere else. The morning light filtering through those old shutters, the sounds of daily life starting up in the piazza just around the corner – it’s the kind of experience that makes you understand why people fall completely in love with this city.
Hotels near me in Verona offer convenient access to the city center, where guests can easily walk to Juliet’s Balcony, Piazza delle Erbe, and authentic Italian trattorias.

Reviews of Domus Verona – Accogliente residenza Rocchetto a 25mt da Piazza Erbe

Centrally located apartment (you really can’t get more central!) in the old town of Verona.
Dog friendly (we traveled with a large dog, so this was definitely a plus, to have a quiet retreat for her in the middle of the city.
Older apartment, so you can’t be picky about little details, but it’s very clean, and comparatively large.
The lady who showed us the accommodation (i can’t remember her name unfortunately), was so friendly and helpful (gave us restaurant recommendations and tips for the city).
Although it’s in the middle of the old town, it was pleasantly quiet at night and in the morning, and it was a pleasure to wake up in the middle beautiful Verona. Highly recommend.
What could be improved: Parking is not available AT the property, so it’s a bit of a walk, but you can drive pretty much right up to the property and drop off your lunch luggage. There is no elevator in the building though, if you’re mobility is challenged.Tyrone from Malta – 19 May 2024 (7/10)
Owner helpful and kind
Comfortble bed and sofa
What could be improved: Old house – lots of stairs as i was in the upper floor – noisy road – bars close which are open till 00:00- 00:30 – no balconyIrina from Russia – 17 October 2023 (8/10)
Central location in historical area. Very clean appartment. Large two separated rooms and kitchen. Capsule coffee machine, microwave, clean and different set of dishes on the kitchen. Clean and quality linen on the beds.
What could be improved: Black ants on the floor and even in the bed. I'm very sensitive to this (((. Very basic or limited set of facilities for a long-term statement ( solt, sugar, oil you have to buy; no kitchen towels, only paper). About street noisy around and old bath room we knew before booking from other feedbacks, so were ready and accepted these inconveniences as they are.Stephen from Switzerland – 23 July 2023 (7/10)
Location is great at the centre. Staff is helpful. Rooms spacious.
What could be improved: Second bed not so comfortable. Bathroom and kitchen could be modernised.Flaviana from Australia – 30 June 2023 (9/10)
Location exceptional, very close to everything in the centre. The apartment had everything needed including a washing machine, clothes horse and iron. On arrival a few things (quite inconsequential) were not working, once informed the management they were fixed within a few hours.
What could be improved: The apartment was on the third floor and it was difficult with the luggage but the view it's great.Lucia from Argentina – 12 June 2023 (9/10)
The location is perfect, super central and close to everything. However, as it is pretty central and close to restaurants and bars, etc, it might get noisy during nights. We didn't care about this because we preferred being central and knew that this was something it could happen.
What could be improved: The noise (although we were expecting this and is not that bad as bars close early at 1am) and being asked to provide copy of our passports through WhatsApp. I think this is not reasonable or proportionated.Fernanda from Brazil – 9 May 2023 (9/10)
Especially the people. All very gently. The guy, I'm sorry. i can remember the name was very nice with us, tried to speak our language, and be fun with the kids.
Thank you. S2Marko from Serbia – 8 May 2023 (9/10)
Everything, the location was perfect in the very city centre, the apartment was very big and comfortable. The host was very polite and responsive.
María from Spain – 4 May 2023 (9/10)
It was right in the city centre. The kitchen was fully equipped.
What could be improved: It was a fourth floor without elevator.Lenara from Belgium – 23 November 2022 (7/10)
really great location, great stuff!
What could be improved: the building is old and does not have lift, so not convenient if you have luggage.
