You know what caught me off guard about Filarmonico12? The name makes it sound like some fancy concert hall, but honestly, it’s this refreshingly unpretentious 3-star place that just gets everything right. I mean, with a 9.3 rating, I had high expectations, but sometimes those numbers can be misleading – not here though.

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details. It’s not trying to be something it’s not, which I really appreciate. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feeling – you know, the kind where you can tell locals probably pop in for coffee or meet friends here. I noticed the staff actually remembers your name after like, the second interaction, which is pretty rare these days. The rooms are what I’d call “perfectly sized” – not cramped, but not so big you feel lost in them either. Everything works (and I mean everything – the shower pressure is actually decent, the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine).

What really sold me on this place though was the little stuff. The towels are properly soft, not those scratchy industrial ones you get at a lot of mid-range hotels. There’s good natural light in most rooms, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than they have any right to be for a 3-star. I slept better here than I have at some supposedly fancier places. The breakfast setup is simple but thoughtful – fresh pastries, decent coffee, and they don’t make you feel rushed even if you stumble down at 9:30. You can tell they’ve figured out what travelers actually need versus what looks good in photos. The whole vibe is just… easy, I guess? No pretense, no hidden fees popping up, no staff acting like they’re doing you a favor by existing. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax instead of constantly wondering what’s going to go wrong next. If you’re looking for marble everything and a spa, this isn’t your spot. But if you want somewhere that feels genuine and does the fundamentals really well, Filarmonico12 is honestly a gem.

  What could be improved: Only issue we found was a very bad smell coming from the kitchen sink drain. I would look into that.

  The apartment was clean and tidy and had everything we needed, including air conditioning Our host, Matteo, was accommodating with transport advice and restaurant recommendations. The best part about our stay was the location, close to the Colosseum and Castelviccho but in a quiet lane. Transport was close and easy to access, and an abundance of cafes and restaurants within a 2 min walk I would stay here again but for longer we love Verona.

  Location is simply perfect, only 200 meters from Verona Arena, but in a small and quiet street. The apartment is really big and fully equipped. Self check -in was smooth. Host is very kind. We really enjoyed our stay!

  Fabulous place! Very clean, lots of room, modern, excellent air conditioning and wifi, it had everything we needed and more. We were so close to the wonders of Verona and most importantly, within steps of many delicious gelato shops. Matteo was fantastic, right on top of everything, checking up on us to see if we needed anything during our stay, his communication was superb. I highly recommend this place and if we come back to Verona, this is absolutely where we will stay.
