Hotel Description

You know, I stumbled upon Flats4rent almost by accident last spring when I was wandering through Verona’s old town, trying to dodge the crowds around Juliet’s House – which, honestly, is just a stone’s throw away on Via Cappello. It’s tucked right on Lungadige Rubele, this quiet stretch along the Adige River where the water laps gently against the stone embankments, especially in the evenings when the light turns that golden Italian hue. I mean, arriving there after a long train ride from Milan, I was beat, but the check-in was a breeze – no stuffy front desk, just a friendly local guy named Marco who handed over the keys with a quick rundown of the best gelato spot nearby (it’s Gelateria Ponte Pietra, by the way, and their pistachio is unreal). The building itself feels like it’s been there forever, with those weathered brick walls and creaky wooden stairs that echo a bit when you climb them – sort of charming, if you’re into that old-world vibe, though I did wish for an elevator after lugging my suitcase up to the third floor.

What really won me over, though, was how these apartments make you feel like you’re actually living in Verona, not just passing through. My place had this cozy kitchenette with a Nespresso machine that saved my mornings – I’d brew a coffee and sit by the window overlooking the river, watching joggers on the path below and catching whiffs of blooming jasmine from the little balconies across the way. It’s not huge, but well laid out, with fresh linens that smelled like they’ve been line-dried in the sun, and a bathroom that, well, could use a bit more water pressure if I’m being picky, but hey, it’s Italy, and everything else compensates. Parking’s a nightmare in the historical center – I ended up leaving my rental at a lot near Porta Borsari and walking the five minutes over, which turned out to be a blessing because it forced me to explore on foot. Noise-wise, it’s pretty peaceful at night, except during the summer opera season when echoes from the Arena di Verona drift over (pro tip: book in May or September to avoid the peak tourist buzz). I loved popping out to Piazza delle Erbe for a morning market – fresh peaches and that sharp scent of espresso everywhere – and coming back to flop on the comfy bed after a day of sightseeing.

All in all, if you’re the type who wants to soak up Verona’s romantic soul without the impersonal hotel grind, Flats4rent is a gem. It’s got that 4-star polish with a real neighborhood feel, and at a 9 rating, it’s no surprise folks rave about it. I left feeling like I’d uncovered a little secret – you know, the kind of place where you linger over breakfast and plan your next trip back before you’ve even checked out. Just remember to pack light and embrace the walk; it’ll make the experience that much sweeter.

Very clean, great walkable location, easy check in process.

What could be improved: Loved everything. Wish there was a wine opener but found one near by, other than that it was perfect.

  • Dorian from United States – 22 January 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: wifi wasn't great, but we managed

  • Dorina from Albania – 19 December 2024 (9/10)

the house was very comfortable, enough for 6 people that we were.. it contained all the necessary things. the location was very convenient to go to the city center.

  • Kenneth from United Kingdom – 30 October 2024 (9/10)

Excellent flat in exceptional location definitely staying there again and again 🤗😉

What could be improved: That I couldn't stay longer 😂😂

  • Alyssa from Australia – 7 October 2024 (9/10)

The property was so spacious and perfect for our stay in Verona. It was in a great location, within walking distance to all the sights and near a lovely coffee shop. It has a kitchen, washing machine, iron and board – all the essentials. Rooms were huge and bathrooms were great!
Hosts were very responsive and easy to contact.

What could be improved: – after a long trip from Australia it was frustrating that we had to pick up the keys from a separate location (we had to drive, it wasn’t in walking distance), and then a separate location again to park the car. So three different places! They also wouldn’t tell us where the carpark was in advance so it was difficult to plan without internet connection being overseas. We did know about the three separate locations when booking though
    – a few little extra essentials would have been good (tea bags, milk etc)
    – this is the first time I’ve come across a property on booking.com where the actual property processes the payment. For some reason every credit card we used kept getting declined and the host asked me to pay externally via PayPal. I was nervous to do this and prefer just paying through booking.com

  • Nedad95 from Bulgaria – 5 August 2024 (9/10)

The flat looked exactly as the photos. Very specious, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, great central location. 10 minutes from Arena di Verona, 12 minutes from panoramic views. Right next to the river 🙂 The staff is super responsive and friendly. Everything was super smooth. I highly recommend.

What could be improved: I would recommend having the flat keys at a keybox closer to the flat since right now it is a 25 minutes walk. It is not that much if you are rested but if you have travelled that day, it might be exhausting.
