Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon Flats4Rent Casa Sailù kind of by accident last spring when I was in Verona chasing that romantic Shakespeare vibe – well, more like dodging the tourist crowds around Juliet’s House, if I’m being honest. It’s tucked away on Via Fratta, this narrow little street in the historical center that’s got that classic Veronese charm with its uneven cobblestones and those tall, shuttered buildings that make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. I remember arriving on foot from the train station – it’s about a 20-minute walk if you cut through Piazza Bra, past the Arena where they do those epic opera shows in summer. Parking? Forget it if you’re driving; the whole area’s a ZTL zone (that’s Zona a Traffico Limitato for the uninitiated), so you’ll want to stash your car at one of those lots outside the center and hoof it. Check-in was a breeze, actually – no fancy lobby, just a quick code for the door and a welcome note from the host, which felt personal, like staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel chain.
What really won me over was how the place blends old-world Verona with modern comforts, you know? The apartment I had – they call them flats, but it’s more like a stylish studio with exposed brick walls and these high ceilings that echo a bit when you laugh too loud. There’s a little kitchenette stocked with basics (espresso machine included, thank goodness, because Italian mornings demand it), and the bed was one of those memory foam deals that actually lets you sleep through the faint hum of scooters zipping by outside – though honestly, it gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, even in peak season. I loved stepping out onto the tiny balcony in the evenings, catching whiffs of garlic and tomato sauce from the trattorias nearby on Via Cappello, just a five-minute stroll away. It’s super close to the Adige River too – cross the Ponte Pietra for those sunset views that make you forget the day’s blisters. One minor gripe: the Wi-Fi can be spotty during busy times, like when everyone’s streaming after a day at the opera, but hey, that’s Italy for you – forces you to unplug and wander instead. The bathroom’s got that sleek rain shower, and everything’s spotless, which matters when you’re dusty from exploring the Duomo or the hidden gardens around Castelvecchio.
All in all, if you’re after an authentic slice of Verona without the inflated prices of those big-name spots on Corso Porta Borsari, Casa Sailù’s a gem – rated 9.2 for good reason. It’s perfect for couples or solo travelers who want to feel immersed, not isolated; I mean, you can hear church bells chiming from Santa Anastasia nearby, adding that poetic touch. Just book ahead in July or August when the festivals crank up the energy (and the crowds), and pack light – those stairs to the upper floors are no joke. I’d go back in a heartbeat; it made my trip feel less like tourism and more like living the dolce vita.

The hosts were amazing, supe helpful in all aspects and couldn’t do enough for us.
The apartment was amazing, large and extremely well equipped with all that you would need.
Any question or help they were there for you. Perfect location to visit Verona 10/10
What could be improved: It was easy to collect the keys due to the fact that we had reserved a taxi to pick us up from the airport who had been given the keys.
Otherwise, having paid for the reservation I was advised that I would have to pick up the keys at another location further away. Had I known this to be the case, I perhaps would have thought twice about booking and may have opted for something else.Nadezhda from France – 12 August 2023 (7/10)

Komme sehr gerne wieder.
Was man berücksichtigen muss ist, wer mit dem Auto geht, parkiert ausserhalb der Altstadt. Genug Zeit einberechnen.
