Hotel Giulietta e Romeo ***S Overview
First Impressions
Walking down Vicolo Tre Marchetti feels like stepping into a Renaissance painting — and that’s exactly where you’ll find Hotel Giulietta e Romeo ***S tucked away in Verona’s historical center. The narrow cobblestone street is so quintessentially Italian that you half expect to bump into Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers around the corner. This three-star boutique hotel occupies a beautifully restored building that manages to feel both intimate and sophisticated without any pretense. You know what strikes you first? It’s how the entrance perfectly captures that old-world Veronese charm while still feeling welcoming to modern travelers.
Location & Neighborhood
Honestly, the location here is pretty much unbeatable — couples consistently rate it 9.9 out of 10, and I can see why. You’re literally in the heart of medieval Verona, which means Juliet’s balcony is a three-minute stroll, and the stunning Piazza delle Erbe is practically on your doorstep. What I love about this spot is that you’re close enough to all the major sights to explore on foot, but the little side street keeps you away from the tourist crowds when you want some peace. The Arena di Verona is maybe a seven-minute walk, and there are authentic osterie and wine bars scattered throughout the neighborhood that most visitors never discover.
The Room Experience
The rooms strike that perfect balance between historical character and modern comfort that’s actually pretty hard to pull off. You’ll find original architectural details — think exposed beams and stone accents — paired with updated amenities that work properly (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given in historic Italian hotels). The beds are genuinely comfortable, and the bathrooms are well-designed without feeling cramped. What really impressed me was the attention to soundproofing; despite being in the city center, the rooms stay surprisingly quiet at night, which means you can actually get some rest between your Verona adventures.
Breakfast & Amenities
The breakfast setup here goes well beyond your typical continental spread — they’ve got vegan and gluten-free options that actually taste good, plus a proper buffet with local specialties. I mean, starting your day with fresh pastries and real Italian coffee while planning your route through Verona’s piazzas? That’s the kind of morning routine that makes a trip memorable. The hotel also offers private parking, which is honestly a godsend if you’re driving in this part of Italy. Navigating Verona’s historic center with a car can be tricky, so having a guaranteed spot takes a lot of stress off your shoulders.
Why Guests Love It
What sets Hotel Giulietta e Romeo ***S apart is how it delivers an authentic Verona experience without sacrificing comfort or convenience. The staff genuinely knows the city and can point you toward hidden gems that guidebooks miss entirely. You’re staying in a place that feels connected to Verona’s romantic history while having everything you need for a smooth, enjoyable visit. The combination of that incredible location score, the thoughtful amenities, and the genuine Italian hospitality creates something special — it’s the kind of place that makes you want to return to Verona just to stay here again.

The location is excellent. Staff very friendly and responsive in answering all questions via app prior to visit. Maria recommended some lovely authentic restaurants. Rooms clean and modern. A bit pricy for the size for a 3 star but the location is on the doorstep of the Arena and incredibly convenient.
