What really won me over, though, was how comfortable everything felt once I settled in. My room was on the third floor, overlooking the street – not the most scenic view, but it was peaceful at night, with just the faint hum of distant traffic (well, unless there’s a big match on, then you might hear some cheering). The bed was plush, like sinking into a cloud, and the bathroom had one of those rain showers that actually works – hot water on demand, no fiddling with quirky Italian plumbing. Breakfast downstairs is solid, too; they do this buffet with fresh pastries, local cheeses, and those tiny jars of Nutella that make you feel like a kid again. I wandered out one morning to grab a real cappuccino at that little café on Via San Marco, just a block away – it’s where locals go, not the overpriced spots near the Duomo. The hotel’s got a gym and sauna, which I used after hiking around the Adige River paths (they’re super close, by the way, great for a jog if you’re up early). One minor gripe: the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, but hey, it’s Italy – unplug a bit, right? And during peak summer, the air conditioning is a lifesaver, though it hums a little loud.

All in all, if you’re looking for a solid 4-star stay without the chaos of central Verona, Hotel Leopardi’s a smart pick – especially for families or anyone with a car, since it’s easy to hop on the A4 highway for day trips to Venice or the Dolomites. The 8.4 rating feels spot-on; it’s not luxurious in a showy way, but it’s reliable and friendly, with that authentic Verona charm. I stayed there last fall during the wine harvest season, and it was quiet enough to actually sleep, yet close enough to bus into the center for Juliet’s balcony in under 15 minutes. You know what? I’d go back in a heartbeat – just maybe avoid match days if you’re noise-sensitive.

  Very big and confortable room. Looks like the hotel was renovated recently. Available parking in front. Easy to find.

  Room was lovely and staff were excellent. Very easy to get the bus to the hotel from the station.
  It’s about 20-25 minute walk from the centre of Verona but the walk is pleasant. Breakfast very nice! Thank you!

  They upgraded our room because it was our anniversary! Staf was really helpful, the room was all clean. The bed was huge! Bathroom was perfectly clean, everything was ready even gilet, sewing kit.
