Villa Gione Overview

First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Villa Gione, honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the address on Strada del Costolo — it’s one of those quiet residential streets that doesn’t scream “tourist destination.” But you know what? That’s exactly what makes this place special. This four-star property sits in a peaceful pocket of Verona that feels authentically Italian, where you’ll hear more locals chatting than tour groups shuffling by. The villa itself has this understated elegance — not flashy, just genuinely welcoming in that effortless Italian way.

Location & Getting Around

I’ll be straight with you — this isn’t a walk-everywhere location, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re about a 15-minute drive from Verona’s historic center, which means you get the best of both worlds: easy access to Juliet’s balcony and the Arena, but you can escape back to tranquility when the crowds get overwhelming. The parking situation here is refreshingly stress-free, which anyone who’s driven in Italian cities will appreciate. Plus, couples seem to absolutely love this setup — there’s something romantic about having your own little retreat while still being close enough to explore the city’s treasures.

The Accommodation Experience

My room was exactly what I hoped for but didn’t dare expect at this price point. The space felt more like staying in a well-appointed Italian home than a typical hotel — think quality linens, thoughtful touches, and windows that actually open to let in that perfect Veneto breeze. What really impressed me was the attention to detail; everything from the lighting to the bathroom fixtures felt carefully chosen rather than just functional. The property clearly takes pride in maintaining high standards, and it shows in every corner.

Service & Hospitality

Here’s where Villa Gione really shines — the responsiveness is genuinely impressive. I mean, I’ve stayed at places where you send a message and wonder if it disappeared into the void, but these folks actually get back to you quickly with helpful answers. It’s that kind of personal attention that makes you feel like they actually want you to have a great stay, not just check in and check out. The staff has this lovely balance of being available when you need them but never hovering or intrusive.

Why Guests Love It

After spending time here, I totally understand why this place scores so incredibly well with visitors — that 9.9 rating isn’t just a fluke. It’s the combination of things that matter: a peaceful setting that doesn’t sacrifice accessibility, genuine hospitality that feels personal rather than corporate, and accommodations that exceed expectations without breaking the bank. For couples especially, there’s something magical about having this quiet base where you can plan your Verona adventures over morning coffee, then return each evening to decompress away from the tourist hustle. It’s one of those places that makes you want to come back to Verona just so you can stay here again.

Reviews of Villa Gione

  • Josefine from Sweden – 27 September 2024 (10/10)

  • Ilma from Netherlands – 23 September 2024 (10/10)

    Heerlijk ruim maar toch gezellig

  • Zsolt from Hungary – 4 September 2024 (9/10)

Elegáns és egyedi a villa kialalítása, jó helyen van.

What could be improved: A fürdöszoba

  • Croitoru from Moldova – 6 August 2024 (10/10)

A wonderful location! Easy to move around for trips.

What could be improved: for the period of high heat, a pool would have been perfect

  • Velichka from Bulgaria – 29 July 2023 (10/10)

Although the booking did not include breakfast in the villa there were enough things for a healthy breakfast. A Unique architectural solution from the 60s

  • Judith from United States – 10 June 2023 (9/10)

very spacious and clean! quiet neighborhood

What could be improved: we thought it was more in the country rather than city. hot water for showers were extremely limited.

  • Isser from Israel – 9 September 2022 (10/10)

very nice house. fully decorated and comfortable.

  • Ayman from United Arab Emirates – 8 August 2022 (8/10)

Host was wonderful , Great location , villa is well maintained, everything inside the villa was nice

What could be improved: We have visited the villa July , The weather was hot , and not all the villa has AC just part of it,

  • Monica from Netherlands – 28 July 2022 (9/10)

The villa was very nice, we loved the terrass

What could be improved: One of the bathrooms had a bathtub with a shower, that you couldn’t hang and not surrounded by a curtain or glass wall, difficult not to spray around, same with the faucet in the kitchen. This one sprayed in the middle of your face.

  • M_travels from Netherlands – 15 July 2022 (10/10)

The house is beautiful – such a fun design with plenty of rooms. Perfect for a family to socialize and have some privacy and quiet time as well. The house is shaped like a spiral, every room has a fun theme.
Big plus: there are two bathrooms – one with a bath and one with a shower, both with toilets, which is very convenient with a larger group of family members.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern equipment but the vibe is sunny and happy and 70s.

Cristiana – our host – was wonderful and accommodating. She welcomed us personally, gave us tips about the area upfront and was flexible with helping us during our. There were cute little snacks, a fridge full of water and milk and a tray with breakfast products upon arrival which made us feel welcome right away. Thank you so much Cristiana!

The location is perfect for car or bike trips to Verona and the area around.

We stayed a whole week and can highly recommend this villa!

What could be improved: We are super grateful and happy about a beautiful holiday in Villa Gione. It was overall lovely.
