You know what really struck me about House Verona In? It’s one of those places that manages to feel both polished and lived-in at the same time. When I first walked through the doors, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star property, but this place surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this warm, residential vibe – think boutique guesthouse rather than corporate hotel chain – and the staff actually remembered my name by the second day, which doesn’t happen often anymore.

The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully designed without being fussy about it. Mine had these lovely wooden accents and really decent lighting (you’d be amazed how many hotels get that wrong), plus the bed was actually comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with the pillows all night. The bathroom was compact but well-planned, with good water pressure – honestly, that’s half the battle right there. I mean, the space isn’t huge, but everything’s placed where it makes sense, and there’s enough storage that you’re not living out of your suitcase the whole time.

What really won me over, though, was how the place sits in Verona itself. The location puts you close enough to the main attractions that you can walk to most places, but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep at night. I loved being able to duck back for an afternoon break without it being a whole production, then head out again for dinner. The neighborhood has this genuine local feel – I’d see the same families walking their dogs in the morning, little cafes where people were clearly regulars rather than just passing through. There’s something really nice about staying somewhere that feels connected to the actual city rather than floating in some tourist bubble. The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, it does what it sets out to do really well. It’s the kind of spot where you feel comfortable enough to leave your stuff and explore, but also happy to come back and relax at the end of the day.
