First Impressions

When I first spotted Juliet’s Paradise – Rooftop Terrace, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from the name — it sounds almost too romantic to be real. But walking up to this four-star property on Via Paradiso, you quickly realize they’re not overselling it. The building itself has that classic Veronese charm, and there’s something about the way it sits in this neighborhood that just feels right. You know what really struck me? The staff actually seemed genuinely happy to see guests arrive, which isn’t always a given these days.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about staying in Verona — location is everything, and this place nailed it. You’re in what locals consider the best part of the city, and I mean that’s not just marketing speak. I could walk to Juliet’s balcony in about eight minutes (yes, I timed it), and the Arena di Verona was maybe a twelve-minute stroll through some genuinely lovely streets. What I really appreciated was having that parking spot right on-site — honestly, trying to park in Verona’s historic center can be a nightmare, so this was a huge relief. The neighborhood has this perfect mix of authentic Italian life and tourist-friendly spots without feeling overrun.

The Rooftop Experience

The rooftop terrace is obviously the star here, and it lives up to the hype. I spent way too much time up there with a glass of Amarone, watching the sun set over the city’s terracotta rooftops. You can actually see the Arena from certain angles, which feels pretty magical when you think about all the history below. The space isn’t huge — maybe room for twenty people max — but that actually makes it feel more intimate. There are comfortable seating areas and some greenery that makes the whole thing feel like a secret garden floating above the city.

The Room

My room was on the third floor, and while it wasn’t enormous, it had everything I needed and then some. The design strikes this nice balance between modern comfort and Italian character — think exposed beams but with excellent air conditioning (trust me, you’ll want that in summer). The bathroom was surprisingly spacious, and I loved the little touches like local toiletries and really good towels. The bed was comfortable enough that I actually slept in a few mornings, which rarely happens when I’m traveling. Oh, and the WiFi was solid throughout the building, which isn’t always guaranteed in these older Italian properties.

Why Guests Love It

What really makes this place special is how it manages to feel both romantic and practical at the same time. I can see why couples rate it so highly — there’s something undeniably charming about sharing that rooftop space at sunset or walking hand-in-hand to explore the city from such a perfect base. But even if you’re not on a romantic getaway, the combination of excellent location, genuine hospitality, and that amazing terrace makes it worth considering. The 8.5 rating feels about right — it’s not perfect, but it’s the kind of place that leaves you planning your next trip back to Verona before you’ve even checked out.
