Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon La Corte Di Giulietta almost by accident during a rainy afternoon in Verona – you know, that kind of serendipitous travel moment that sticks with you. Tucked right inside Juliet’s courtyard on Via Cappello, literally steps from that famous balcony where tourists scribble love notes on the walls and rub the bronze statue for luck (honestly, it’s a bit worn down from all the hands, but the energy is infectious). I mean, if you’re into Romeo and Juliet vibes, this place is ground zero – the hotel’s entrance is discreet, almost hidden behind the ivy-covered archway, so you feel like you’re slipping into a secret hideaway amid the chaos. Arriving around check-in time, which is a smooth 2 p.m. affair with a friendly staffer who speaks flawless English and hands over a map of the historical center, I was struck by how the old stone floors echoed with a faint, romantic hush once you stepped inside. Outside, it’s buzzing with day-trippers snapping photos until sunset, especially in summer when Verona swells with opera festival crowds heading to the Arena just a five-minute stroll away on Via Mazzini. But here’s a tip from someone who’s been: if you park nearby (good luck finding a spot on the street; I ended up using the underground lot at Piazza Cittadella, about a 10-minute walk), aim for evenings when the courtyard quiets down, and you can actually hear the distant hum of aperitivo chatter from Piazza delle Erbe without the throng.
What really won me over, though, was how the hotel blends that historic charm with just enough modern comfort to make you forget you’re in a 16th-century building – well, almost. My room overlooked the courtyard, with these tall shuttered windows that let in the morning light filtering through the plane trees, and the bed was one of those plush, sink-right-in types that had me sleeping like a baby despite the occasional late-night revelers below (nothing earplugs couldn’t handle, mind you). The decor’s all exposed brick and wooden beams, with a nod to the Juliet theme – think subtle frescoes and fresh flowers on the nightstand that smelled faintly of lavender, probably sourced from some local market. Breakfast is served in this cozy courtyard-facing lounge, nothing extravagant but solid: fresh cornetti, cappuccinos strong enough to wake the dead, and those little pots of yogurt with honey that taste like they came straight from an Italian nonna’s kitchen. I appreciated the practical bits, like the speedy Wi-Fi for mapping out walks to the Castelvecchio bridge or the hidden gelateria on Via Stella (trust me, their pistachio is worth the detour). It’s not without its quirks – the elevator’s tiny, so pack light if you’re on an upper floor, and during peak season, the shared courtyard means you might dodge a tour group or two on your way out. But that’s Verona for you; it’s lively, not sterile.
All in all, if you’re chasing that authentic slice of romantic Italy without the over-the-top tourist trap feel, La Corte Di Giulietta is a gem – especially for couples or history buffs who want to wake up to the scent of espresso wafting from nearby cafes and step right into the storybook setting. I’ve stayed in fancier spots, but this one’s got soul, you know? At a 9.4 rating, it’s no surprise; just book ahead for July when the opera crowds hit, or go in shoulder season for that peaceful magic. I’d go back in a heartbeat – maybe next time with someone to share those balcony views with.

We spent just one night in this suite, and it was truly unforgettable. The location couldn’t be more perfect—right in the heart of Verona, with the magical touch of having the Giulietta balcony visible from the room. The window looks out over the courtyard.
The suite itself is beautiful—completely renovated, stylish, and so comfortable. Every little detail has been thoughtfully considered, making it feel both modern and welcoming.
What made our stay even more special was Michela. She’s a fantastic host—warm, kind, and full of great recommendations. Thanks to her tips, we had an incredible dinner and discovered some fantastic local wines.Danielle from United Kingdom – 16 March 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful room in a special location. Being able to wander around the courtyard after hours was incredibly special. Easy to find as the courtyard is very well signposted, we parked just outside Verona centre and walked over – took less than 15 minutes. Special mention to host Michela who was beyond helpful – reccomending the best places to eat and what we should go and see. She even brought us a delicious cake!

The Lavinia apartment exceeded my expectations. You can see Juliette and her balcony from your window all night. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the linens were luxurious and felt amazing to sleep in. The cleanliness was top tier with daily housekeeping. Breakfast was continental type and great, fridge was filled daily with water, juice and milk as needed.

Beautifully renovated apartment in classic style right on the courtyard. The host Michela is wonderful. She met us to check us in and explained everything, gave us many options and recommendations and even shared a glass of wine with us before she left. Nice assortment of snacks and water was included as well. Great place to stay in Verona.
