The name literally means “the Bishop’s vineyard,” and when you’re sitting on their terrace with a glass of wine watching the sun dip behind rolling hills dotted with actual vineyards, it all makes perfect sense. This isn’t some made-up romantic name – there’s real history here, and you can feel it the moment you walk through those weathered stone archways.

I’ll be honest, finding this place took a bit of wandering (GPS gets a little confused in this part of the countryside), but that’s sort of the point. When you finally arrive, there’s this immediate sense of “okay, I’m somewhere special.” The 4-star rating feels right – it’s polished without being stuffy, comfortable without trying too hard. What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to preserve so much character in the original architecture while actually having decent WiFi and proper shower pressure. The rooms have this wonderful mix of old wooden beams and updated bathrooms, and honestly, the beds are fantastic. I mean, after a day of exploring, you just sink right in.

The staff here actually knows the area – not just the tourist spots everyone hits, but the little family-run osteria twenty minutes down the winding road where locals go on Sunday afternoons, or which hiking trail gives you the best views without the crowds. That 8.8 rating doesn’t surprise me at all because it’s those kinds of insider tips that make a stay memorable. The breakfast is worth mentioning too – fresh pastries that I’m pretty sure come from a nearby bakery, local honey, and coffee that’s strong enough to fuel whatever adventure you’ve got planned. They serve it in this lovely courtyard area where you can hear church bells echoing from the valley below. Just a heads up though – if you’re sensitive to early morning sounds, those same bells start up around 7 AM, but personally, I found it charming rather than annoying. There’s something about being tucked away in what feels like your own slice of Italian countryside that makes even the practical stuff feel romantic.

  Great apartment with everything you need for a good stay and perfectly fine for a family of 4. Balcony was beautiful and Gianluca was excellent with all communication. 15-20 minute walk direct into the city.
  
  What could be improved: The area was a little interesting and felt a little daunting in the evenings but Gianluca was great to reassure us it was safe for tourists.

  What could be improved: De wijk is overdag prima om richting Verona te lopen. In de avond (later) zou ik of m'n vrouw er niet alleen rondlopen. Redelijk wat hangende mensen en zwervers. Creatieve maar ook armer deel van Verona.

  The apartment is in walking distance to the city centre. It's an old building, so you get the proper feeling of living in Verona. Yet the apartment itself is up to date. Do enjoy the balcony.

  Der Austausch mit Gianluca war super. Wir hatten ein paar Anliegen, die er zeitnah und zu jeder Uhrzeit umgesetzt hat. Die Lage der Wohnung ist praktisch, in 15 Minuten zu Fuß ist man an der Altstadt. In der Nähe gibt es lauter kleine Läden, die zu fast jeder Uhrzeit offen haben und viele Bars.
