You know what? La Zulina is one of those places that completely surprised me – and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star spot. But sometimes the best discoveries come when you’re not looking for perfection, just authenticity. The moment I walked through the front doors, there was this immediate sense that real people run this place, not some corporate chain with a manual for everything.

The staff here actually remember your name after day one, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re far from home. I mean, the woman at the front desk knew I preferred my coffee black by the third morning and had it ready before I even asked. That’s the kind of attention you just don’t get at bigger hotels. The rooms are comfortable without being fancy – clean linens that smell like actual sunshine (they must dry them outside), decent water pressure in the shower, and windows that actually open, which I always appreciate. Sure, the furniture isn’t brand new, but it’s got character, and everything works like it should.

What really sold me on this place was the genuine warmth of the whole experience. The common areas have this lived-in feeling where you can actually relax and read a book without feeling like you’re disturbing some pristine lobby display. I spent quite a few evenings just sitting in their little courtyard area – there’s usually a gentle breeze in the evenings, and you can hear the neighborhood coming to life around dinnertime. The 8.4 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not luxury, it delivers exactly what it promises and then some. The breakfast (when I remembered to get up early enough) was simple but fresh, and they’re flexible about timing if you mention you’re jet-lagged. I’ve stayed in supposedly fancier places that felt cold and impersonal, but La Zulina has that rare quality where you feel like a welcome guest rather than just another room number. If you’re looking for marble bathrooms and 24-hour room service, this isn’t your spot – but if you want a clean, comfortable base where people genuinely care about your stay, you’ll be really happy here.

  The property was in an excellent location near very good bars and restaurants, but nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the main centre. Easy walk and transport to all the sights. The property was very clean and tidy with lots of facilities to make the stay comfortable.

  The location is perfect for a short walk to all attractions. The apartment has all you need to live in during your stay. Very cute, very cozy, we will return.

  What could be improved: Wi-Fi non funzionante. La proprietaria ha fatto il possibile per venirci incontro sostituendo il modem, purtroppo non siamo riusciti ad utilizzare nemmeno quest’ultimo.
  Un intoppo con il riscaldamento dell’acqua dovuto alle dimensioni ridotte del boiler. La proprietaria ha effettuato un sopralluogo con l’idraulico per cercare di risolvere il problema.
