L’Angolino Nascosto Overview

You know what struck me first about L’Angolino Nascosto? The name literally means “the hidden corner” in Italian, and honestly, it couldn’t be more perfect. This place feels like stumbling upon someone’s well-kept secret – the kind of spot you’d hesitate to tell people about because you want to keep it for yourself. I mean, with a 9.5 rating, clearly the secret’s already out, but somehow it still maintains that intimate, tucked-away feeling that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

The whole vibe here is what I’d call effortlessly elegant. It’s a 4-star property, but it doesn’t shout about it – instead, everything just feels thoughtfully done. The kind of place where someone clearly sweated the small details without making a big show of it. I noticed things like how the lighting hits just right in the evenings, creating these warm pockets throughout the common areas, and how the staff remembers your coffee preference after the second day (which, let’s be honest, doesn’t happen everywhere). The rooms have this lived-in sophistication – not stuffy or overly precious, but comfortable in a way that makes you want to actually spend time there instead of just crashing for the night.

What really sets L’Angolino Nascosto apart, though, is how it manages to feel both polished and authentic at the same time. I’ve stayed at plenty of boutique places that try too hard to be quirky or memorable, but this one gets the balance right. There’s genuine character here – you can sense it in the way spaces flow together, in the mix of guests who seem to genuinely appreciate the place rather than just posting about it. The whole experience feels curated but not contrived, if that makes sense. Sure, you’re paying for quality (it’s definitely not a budget option), but you actually get what you pay for, which is becoming rarer these days. It’s the sort of place that makes you understand why people become repeat visitors – not because it’s flashy or trendy, but because it simply does everything well without making a fuss about it.

  • Laura from Canada – 24 September 2024 (9/10)

Marina was very pleasant and gave us great recommendations. She also surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. The location was perfect. Walking distance to everything and yet away from the crowds!

What could be improved: The location was perfect. No need for a car. Marina actually told us about a free parking area near the apartment.

  • Susan from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (9/10)

Very handy location for walking across the bridge into Verona or taking the bus from outside. Very quiet within the apartment and felt very safe behind the front gate. Apartment very cool and comfortable with excellent facilities.

What could be improved: Didn’t worry us too much, but 2 flights of stairs ( one outside and one inside) the apartment.

  • Susan from United States – 19 September 2024 (10/10)

Marina, the host, was very helpful and answered all of our questions. The location of this property is excellent. You can easily walk to many sites in Verona. The apartment is quiet, clean, and comfortable.

What could be improved: While the host left a parking pass for us, we were lucky to get the last spot on the street. I’m not sure where we would have gone if that was filled.

  • Kenneth from United Kingdom – 13 September 2024 (10/10)

Marina our host was very helpful before arrival ensuring we had access codes and directions to the apartment. Room was clean and very spacious and more than adequate for our needs. There was everything we required in the apartment. Also on leaving Marina kindly booked us a taxi to the train station. Location of the apartment was very convenient to the centre just a few minutes walk would take you right into restaurants and shopping area, 20 mins to the Arena and only 2-3 mins from the funicular to the scenic viewpoint to see over Verona. Small mini market just 10 mins walk also.

Verona exceeded our expectations given a great base to explore we found it very relaxing away from the busy time in Florence. We took in an Opera and this was well worth the visit. Also 20 mins walk away is Giusti Gardens which were lovely. Would recommend Al Canton for a dinner as you are very well looked after by Fabio.

What could be improved: Unfortunately weather was bad for the Sunday afternoon but the apartment was a nice place to head back to and we dodged the showers to take in the funicular and restaurant up at the viewpoint which Marina had suggested. When you are from Northern Ireland you get used to dealing with the rain.

  • Carmie from Australia – 31 August 2024 (10/10)

Apartment was fully furnished. Nothing missing. Complementary wine on arrival. Full laundry facilities. Room very spacious. Very clean. Full kitchen facilities – can do your own cooking if that's your thing. Close enough to Centre of town and far away from all the noise / traffic.
    Plenty of eateries close by.
    Perfect accommodation.

What could be improved: Nothing – wish we could of stayed longer.
