You know what really surprised me about Le Giare? Walking in, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place – I mean, let’s be real, sometimes that rating can be a total coin flip. But this little gem completely changed my perspective on what a mid-range hotel can actually deliver.

The moment I stepped into the lobby, there was this immediate sense that someone here actually cares about the details. Not in a stuffy, over-the-top way, but more like… well, like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste. The staff greeted me with genuine warmth (not that rehearsed hotel smile you usually get), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no pushy upsells or lengthy explanations about amenities I didn’t ask about. What really caught my attention was how clean everything felt without being sterile, if that makes sense. There’s character in the space, little touches that suggest the owners understand hospitality isn’t just about thread counts and marble countertops.

My room was honestly better than some 4-star places I’ve stayed at recently. The bed was properly comfortable – and I’m picky about mattresses – with linens that felt substantial, not those paper-thin sheets that seem to be everywhere these days. The bathroom was compact but smartly designed, with water pressure that actually worked and toiletries that didn’t smell like industrial cleaner. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful lighting; you could actually read in bed without squinting or having a harsh overhead light blasting in your face. The soundproofing was surprisingly good too – I barely heard any hallway noise, which is pretty rare in smaller hotels. What impressed me most, though, was the attention to those little things that matter when you’re tired from traveling: plenty of outlets positioned where you actually need them, a proper full-length mirror, and blackout curtains that actually block out light.

The 9.6 rating this place has earned? It’s completely justified, and honestly, it makes sense once you realize what they’re doing right. They’re not trying to be something they’re not – there’s no pretentious luxury branding or inflated promises. Instead, they’ve nailed the fundamentals so well that you end up having a better experience than at places charging twice as much. The value here is exceptional, but it’s not just about the price point. It’s about consistently delivering on the basics while adding those personal touches that make you feel like a welcome guest rather than just another booking number. I’d absolutely stay here again, and that’s something I rarely say about hotels in this category.

  Our host Natalia was very friendly and informed us of all the necessary steps of checking-in in advance and also made sure throughout the stay that everything was to our liking. The flat was very clean and everything was to our full satisfaction. Our host even left complementary drinks in the fridge. We were very happy with our stay and would recommend the place to everyone wanting to have a calm and uncomplicated stay in Verona.
