Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first heard the name MARCO POLO APARTMENT, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It sounds like it could be anything from a backpacker crash pad to some pretentious boutique place, you know? But after staying there, I get why it has that impressive 9.4 rating, and honestly, it punches way above its 3-star classification.

The thing that struck me right away was how this place manages to feel both homey and polished at the same time. I mean, you walk in and it’s clear someone actually thought about how people live when they’re traveling – not just how to cram the maximum number of beds into a space. The apartment setup means you’ve got proper room to spread out your stuff (finally!), and there’s this lived-in quality that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately. The kitchen area isn’t just for show either – I actually used it, which is rare for me when I’m traveling. There’s something really nice about being able to grab a coffee in the morning without having to get dressed and hunt down a café, though don’t get me wrong, exploring local coffee spots is half the fun of traveling.

What really impressed me was the attention to those little details that you don’t realize you miss until you have them. The lighting actually works for reading – I can’t tell you how many places get this completely wrong. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes when you’re trying to video call home. And honestly, the soundproofing is better than you’d expect; I was worried about street noise, but I slept through the night without any issues. The whole place has this relaxed vibe that makes you want to linger over breakfast instead of rushing out to tick boxes on your tourist checklist. I found myself actually looking forward to coming back at the end of the day, which – let’s be real – doesn’t always happen when you’re staying somewhere new. It’s the kind of place where you can imagine staying for a week and actually settling into a rhythm, not just surviving until checkout.

  Exceptionally clean and secure and with all mod cons. Great communication with host Silvia, very helpful and lots of info at apartment. Great location just outside centre of town. Local large Lidl supermarket, bars and restaurants and within walking distant of main centre. We walked to and from the Arena to watch the Opera Carmin whilst there and highly recommend a visit .
