I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Massimago Wine Suites, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from a hotel that’s basically built around wine. I mean, it could’ve gone either way, you know? But after spending a few nights there, I can tell you it’s one of those places that just gets it right.

The whole property feels like someone took the best parts of staying at a boutique winery and actually made it comfortable for people who aren’t wine experts. The suites themselves are really thoughtfully designed – I’m talking about proper space to spread out, not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re living out of a suitcase on the floor. The beds are legitimately comfortable (I’m picky about this), and honestly, the sound insulation is better than most places I’ve stayed. You’re not going to hear your neighbors stumbling back from dinner, which I appreciated. What really struck me was how they’ve managed to incorporate the wine theme without making it feel gimmicky – there are subtle touches everywhere, from the way they’ve displayed bottles to the actual glassware in your suite, but it never feels like you’re sleeping in a wine shop.

The staff here actually knows their stuff, and I don’t just mean they can recommend a good bottle. They understand the area, they know which local restaurants are worth the drive (and trust me, some are quite a drive), and they’re genuinely helpful about timing – like when to visit nearby wineries to avoid the tour bus crowds. The 9.0 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s not perfect, but the things they do well, they do really well. The check-in process was smooth, parking isn’t a nightmare like at some of these countryside places, and honestly, the whole vibe just works. You’ll find yourself wanting to linger in the common areas, maybe with a glass of something local, just because it’s pleasant. If you’re looking for a place that feels special without trying too hard, and you don’t mind being a bit removed from typical tourist chaos, this is worth considering. Just book ahead – places like this don’t stay secret for long, and I have a feeling availability is going to get tighter as word spreads.

  Situated a short walk from the Roman Coliseum and within walking distance of the entire old town, Massimago wine suites is perfectly positioned to explore the beautiful city of Verona. The room was large, comfortable and well equipped and excellent aircon (needed in 33° heat). The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast box, delivered to your room, was extensive (yoghurt, fruit, juice, croissant, meats, cheeses etc) . Could not recommend more highly.

  Great location for a couple of nights in Verona. Minutes from the Arena. Nice large room. We ordered the breakfast one morning which was very good but huge – enough for four (but maybe our appetites are small)!
  
  What could be improved: We were grateful for the air conditioning but it was a bit noisy and one of the windows didn’t have shutters and the curtains let in the morning light.

  Quietly understated and very comfortable. The bed was massive and extremely comfortable. Breakfast came in cute wine boxes and with excellent quality ingredients. Great location
