Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Mentana Suite, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the star ratings don’t tell the whole story, and this little gem absolutely proves that point. I mean, there’s a reason it’s sitting at a 9.5 rating, and after spending a few nights there, I totally get it.

What struck me right away was how the staff actually seemed to care – not in that rehearsed, corporate way, but like they genuinely wanted you to have a good time. The check-in was smooth (no waiting around while they fumbled with paperwork), and honestly, the suites themselves are way more spacious than you’d expect. I’m talking about actual room to spread out your stuff without playing furniture Tetris with your suitcase. The kitchenette was surprisingly well-equipped too – not just a mini-fridge and a prayer, but actual cooking space if you want to grab some local ingredients and make breakfast. The beds? Comfortable enough that I actually overslept twice, which never happens to me when I’m traveling.

Here’s the thing that really sold me though – the little details that show someone’s actually thinking about the guest experience. The Wi-Fi works everywhere (and I mean everywhere – tested it thoroughly), there’s proper soundproofing so you’re not listening to your neighbor’s late-night TV habits, and the bathrooms have those rainfall showerheads that make you want to stay in there way longer than necessary. Parking was straightforward too, which might sound boring but trust me, after circling blocks in some cities looking for a spot, you appreciate when a place just makes it easy. The location itself is pretty solid – close enough to get around without feeling like you need a GPS for every outing, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep. I walked to several restaurants and shops without breaking a sweat, and there’s something to be said for being able to duck back to your room mid-day without it being a whole production.

  Linda was a very good host and answered our messages whenever we needed her, the house was spotlessly clean, located 10 minutes from the center of Verona and was the best choice for our trip to Verona. Had hot water all the time.
  
  What could be improved: What we didn't like is that there was no water in the fridge when we arrived, there were no extra sheets for the sofa bed and how the extra beds could be made and not made by us.

  Excellent, quiet location. Very clean, modern apartment with good bed linen, towels and well-equipped kitchen.
  
  What could be improved: Difficult to turn the boiler on as electric switch hidden on the wall behind had been turned off – but quickly resolved after conversation with host. More than 2 rolls of toilet tissue would have been useful.

  The apartment is absolutely fabulous! You will find here everything you need for comfortable stay. What you see in photos you will find in the apartment. Linda, the host of the apartment, is discreet and professional. I highly recommend this place.

  We give 10 scores to Mentana suite just because we couldn’t give 11! Everything was fantastic,clean and comfortable! Sparkling clean and with great location!

  Great 1 bedroom apartment.
  
  Everything was new and super clean.
  We have stayed with a 1 year old baby and were feeling very comfortable.
  Location is pefect , 10 min walk to the downtown and in the morning you can hear birds sound 🙂

  Everything was great! Really super clean, big apartment, in a beautiful quiet street. It had everything we needed for our stay, even for cooking. It is a really short walk to the center and in a nice area. We had a place to park our car in the street for free. The bed is comfy with nice sheets. We really enjoyed our stay here. And Linda was a great host, helped us and answered all our questions!

  The apartment was modern yet still very Italian. It was extremely comfortable and reasonably quiet as it was in a residential area and walking distance to the historic centre. Our host, Linda, was fabulous, very responsive on WhatsApp and was on the phone talking us through the checkin. Highly recommend this apartment.

  Very close to the old town, but in a quieter part of the city. Very clean, everything you need is in the apartment (cooking utensils, cleaning products, etc.) The host is very accommodating and nice. Wifi 10/10 (used for work).
