Notti sull’Adige Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Notti sull’Adige along the Lungadige Panvinio, you immediately understand why this three-star hotel has such devoted fans. The building sits right on Verona’s riverfront, and honestly, the location alone makes you feel like you’ve stumbled onto a movie set. I mean, you’re literally steps from the Adige River with those classic Italian facades reflecting in the water — it’s the kind of view that makes you pause with your luggage and just take it in. The entrance has that understated Italian elegance that doesn’t try too hard, which I actually prefer to flashier places.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what really sets this place apart — you’re in Verona’s historical center, but not in some touristy bubble where everything feels artificial. The Lungadige Panvinio puts you right along the river promenade, which locals actually use for their evening walks (you’ll see families and couples strolling past your window). Juliet’s balcony is maybe a ten-minute walk, but so is the morning market where Veronese actually shop for groceries. You know what I love? You can walk to the Arena di Verona in about fifteen minutes, but you’re far enough away that you won’t hear the crowds or deal with the chaos after evening performances.
The Experience
The rooms at Notti sull’Adige feel authentically Italian without being overly themed — think clean lines, quality linens, and those shuttered windows that actually block out the morning light when you need to sleep in. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you navigate Verona, not just checking boxes on hospitality training. I’ve stayed in plenty of three-star hotels that feel like they’re cutting corners, but this one feels more refined than its rating suggests. The common areas have this relaxed vibe where you might actually want to sit and plan your day rather than just rush through.
River Views & Atmosphere
If you can snag a room facing the Adige, do it — the river views change throughout the day in ways that surprised me. Morning light hits the water differently than evening light, and there’s something almost meditative about watching the occasional boat drift by. The neighborhood gets this lovely golden hour glow that photographers dream about, and you’re right there to witness it. Even the rooms without direct river views benefit from being in this area — the whole district has this calm, residential feel that’s rare to find so close to major attractions.
Why Guests Love It
The 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been here — it’s that sweet spot where location, comfort, and value align just right. Couples especially seem drawn to the romantic setting (and honestly, walking along the river at sunset is pretty magical), but I think anyone who appreciates authentic Italian atmosphere would be happy here. You’re not paying five-star prices, but you’re getting an experience that feels special because of where you are and how thoughtfully everything is managed. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to return to Verona, partly just to stay here again.
Exploring Verona blends Roman heritage, Shakespearean romance, and sun-warmed wine bars buzzing after dusk.

Perfect location to see Verona’s old city by foot. The window view on the river. Very comfortable bed, bathroom outside the room, but it was not an issue, because it was still private, locked. 24-hour access to supplied kitchen.
Most of all Alessandra, very nice and helpful host!
