Nuovo Confortini Rooms SUNDAY Overview

I remember pulling up to Nuovo Confortini Rooms SUNDAY on a drizzly afternoon last spring – you know, that time of year when Verona’s streets start buzzing with early tourists but the air still has that crisp, river-fresh bite from the Adige nearby. It’s tucked away on Piazzale Aristide Stefani in Borgo Trento, which isn’t the flashy historic center like around the Arena, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. This neighborhood feels more like where actual Veronese live – think quiet residential blocks with those classic ochre buildings and the occasional scooter zipping by. I mean, you’re just a 15-minute stroll across Ponte della Vittoria to the old town, where you can hit up spots like Juliet’s House without feeling like you’re in a tourist trap right from your doorstep. Parking was a bit of a hassle, though – street spots are scarce, and I ended up circling for a good 10 minutes before snagging one nearby (pro tip: arrive early or ask the staff about local garages; they’re super helpful with that). The check-in was straightforward, no frills – the owner greeted me with a genuine smile and a quick chat about the best nearby gelateria on Via IV Novembre, which, let me tell you, was a game-changer after a long drive.

Stepping inside, the place has this cozy, lived-in vibe that sort of reminds you of staying at a friend’s apartment rather than some sterile hotel chain. The rooms are simple – mine had a comfy double bed with those soft, white linens that smell faintly of lavender detergent, and a small balcony overlooking the piazza where you could hear distant church bells from San Giorgio in Braida chiming in the evenings. It’s rated 7.9 for a reason; nothing extravagant for a 3-star spot, but clean as a whistle and with decent Wi-Fi that didn’t drop once while I was streaming shows after a day of wandering. Breakfast is included – well, sort of a continental setup with fresh croissants, yogurt, and espresso that hits just right (though if you’re a big eater, you might want to supplement with something from the market on Lungadige San Giorgio). I appreciated the little touches, like the mini-fridge stocked with affordable local wines – grabbed a Valpolicella one night and sipped it while watching the sunset glow over the rooftops. Noise-wise, it’s pretty quiet after dark, except maybe some light traffic hum if your room faces the street, but earplugs sorted that out easily. Oh, and the bathroom was spotless, with hot water that actually stayed hot – no surprises there, unlike some budget places I’ve crashed in Italy.

All in all, if you’re heading to Verona for the romance or the opera season (which gets packed in summer, so book ahead), this spot’s a solid pick without breaking the bank. It’s not perfect – the decor’s a tad dated, like those floral curtains that scream ’90s Italy – but that’s what makes it feel authentic, you know? I left feeling like I’d gotten a real slice of local life, plus it’s easy to hop on a bus from the piazza to places like Castelvecchio if walking’s not your thing. For couples or solo travelers wanting value and a low-key base, Nuovo Confortini delivers – just don’t expect five-star pampering. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially for that balcony view and the staff’s insider tips on avoiding the crowds at the Ponte Pietra.

Reviews of Nuovo Confortini Rooms SUNDAY

  • Kinga from New Zealand – 5 September 2024 (7/10)

We were able to leave our luggage in the morning and go explore the city. The room we stayed in was quite spacious

What could be improved: The shower head was broken which meant we had to hold it to take a shower – a big inconvenience 🙁 the bathroom cleanliness wasn’t the greatest. Overall it was okay for a one night stay

  • Hannah from United Kingdom – 29 August 2024 (7/10)

The beds were very comfy and the room was very spacious

What could be improved: Quite noisy- we could hear people’s doors slamming/locking in the corridor and the people living above were also noisy

  • Ebru from Turkey – 10 August 2024 (7/10)

Location is near to city center and cleaning was good. There is but station in front of the building.

What could be improved: Check in was a bit confusing but it can be managable. The beds were not that confortable and sound isolation is not good

  • Henry from Dominican Republic – 14 June 2024 (8/10)

Comfortable bed, clean, easy to access. The bus stop leaves you just in front of the building.

What could be improved: Only thing is an appartment building, you can’t leave your bags after checkout for later pickup.

  • Eirini from Greece – 18 September 2023 (7/10)

The room was situated opposite the hospital in Borgo Trento. There was a bus stop just outside the building door, but you could walk to the city center in approximately 15min. The area looked safe.
I did not meet the owner, but they responded well, and I was sent a link to have an online check in, and found the keys inside the room.
The room was not big, but it was expected to be so, because it looked like just as in the photos on their site. However, the bed and pillow were comfortable for my taste. The room and bathroom seemed cleaned and there was hot water all day long. The aircondition worked well. Outside the room, there was a small common kitchen area with a fridge and equipment to boil water, make coffee, or warm some food.
The price of the room was very appealing.

What could be improved: The bathroom had a weird smell, probably from the sewer system/pipes, so I had to keep it closed at all times. One wall looked run down (under the TV) (photos attached)
I could find ants on the floor, mostly scattered, but one night when I returned in the room they had formed a line. (photo attached)
The only window in the room overlooked in a parking lot behind the building, and the window ledge was covered in pigeon droppings.
I would also appreciate a towel hanger inside the bathroom. There was only one for hand towels next to the sink.

  • Carla from Portugal – 15 September 2023 (8/10)

The room was part of an apartment but had it's own bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable and had all the required commodities for one night. It was 20 min walking from the city but it was in a calm area which was much appreciated given that we've traveled with our puppy (which caused no problem). The instructions to enter were very clear and the team was reactive answering. It had a shared small kitchen with coffee machine and some snacks for breakfast.

What could be improved: It was though a quite expensive given the location (20 min walking from the center) but, from what I analyzed, Verona is quite expensive (and it was a Saturday night), so, given the circumstances, we were satisfied.

  • Karol from Poland – 15 September 2023 (8/10)

Good location, quite close to the center. Comfortable beds, air conditioning and an elevator are a big plus. The room was clean and quiet.

What could be improved: Some clear information about the parking lot would be useful. The check-in process could also have been easier because I had to call to find out exactly what room I had.

  • Silvija from Lithuania – 13 September 2023 (9/10)

    All clean and nice. Recomend.

What could be improved: There were ants in the room.

  • Sarka from United Kingdom – 30 August 2023 (8/10)

    The internal design, good location

What could be improved: The lift wasn't working

  • Jenna from United Kingdom – 11 July 2023 (8/10)

Room was very clean. Beds and pillows were so comfortable. Air conditioner was great

What could be improved: Slightly further from the central as we would have liked. Approximately 20-30mins walk
