Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon Palazzo Cerù Bed and Breakfast almost by accident last spring, when I was wandering through Verona’s historical center after a long train ride from Milan. It’s tucked away on Piazza Broilo, this quiet little square just off Via Cappello – you know, the street that leads right to Juliet’s House, with all those love notes plastered on the walls. Honestly, arriving there felt like stepping back in time; the building is this gorgeous old palazzo with weathered stone facades and those tall, arched windows that scream Renaissance Italy. I mean, it’s not one of those flashy chain hotels – it’s more intimate, like staying in a friend’s elegant townhouse. Check-in was a breeze; the owner, this warm local guy named Marco (I think?), greeted me with a fresh espresso and chatted about the best spots for aperitivo nearby, like that hidden bar on Via Stella where the locals go to avoid the tourist crowds. Parking? Well, that’s always a hassle in the centro storico – no spots right outside, but he pointed me to a nearby garage on Lungadige San Giorgio, which saved me from circling for hours.
What really won me over, though, was how the place blends that historic charm with just enough modern comfort to make you feel pampered without it being over-the-top. My room – one of the suites on the upper floor – had these high ceilings with exposed wooden beams, and the bed was ridiculously comfy, like sinking into a cloud after a day of trekking around the Arena (which is only a 10-minute walk away, by the way). There’s this faint scent of lavender from the linens, and in the mornings, you’d hear the distant bells from the Duomo mixing with the chatter from the piazza below – not too noisy, actually, especially if you avoid peak summer when the streets buzz until midnight. Breakfast is served in this cozy courtyard (weather permitting), with fresh croissants, local cheeses, and that thick Italian yogurt – nothing extravagant, but way better than the bland buffets at bigger hotels. Oh, and they have bikes you can borrow for free, which was a lifesaver for zipping over to Ponte Pietra for sunset views. One minor gripe? The Wi-Fi can be spotty in the thicker-walled rooms – sort of expected in a 16th-century building, I suppose, but pack a book just in case.
Look, if you’re heading to Verona for the opera season or just to soak up the romance, Palazzo Cerù is the kind of spot that makes the trip memorable without breaking the bank. It’s rated an 8.8 for good reason – not perfect, but authentically Veronese, with that personal touch you don’t get everywhere. I’ve stayed in fancier places, but this one felt real, you know? Like you’re part of the city, not just visiting. Next time I’m back, that’s where I’ll book – maybe in fall, when the crowds thin out and the air smells like roasting chestnuts from the street vendors.

very polite service, great contact. Parking space a bit further from the hotel, but it didn't bother us. Delicious Italian breakfast. We could leave suitcases a bit longer and visit the city longer.
What could be improved: Smell from the bathroom and unfortunately cold water..Joy from Czech Republic – 14 February 2025 (9/10)

We recently stayed at Palazzo Ceru Bed and Breakfast in Verona, and it was an absolutely delightful experience.
The location is ideal, situated in the heart of Verona with easy access to major attractions like the Verona Arena, Juliet's Balcony and all restaurants and shops.
The room was warm, very clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable. We really appreciated the seamless luggage service—they stored our bags both before check-in and after check-out, allowing us to explore the city without worry.
The breakfast was simple and delicious. It was the perfect way to start the day without being overwhelming. The cozy dining area added to the charm.
Evelyn was always ready to assist with recommendations, directions, or any special requests.
I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Verona.
We will definitely return on our next visit!Clare from United Kingdom – 26 October 2024 (8/10)
Great location for many of Verona’s finest restaurants and buildings. The owner Evelyn was very friendly and suggested plenty of local sites and restaurants to explore and eat at. The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. Ideal family room for two older children and parents. The breakfast was tasty and varied.
