Palazzo Reggiani – Galileo Galilei Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Palazzo Reggiani – Galileo Galilei, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The double name thing made it sound a bit fancy-schmancy, you know? But honestly, this 4-star place completely won me over, and I mean that perfect 10 rating isn’t just some fluke.

The moment you walk through those heavy wooden doors, there’s this immediate sense that you’re somewhere special. The lobby has these gorgeous original frescoed ceilings – I’m talking actual Renaissance-era artwork above your head while you’re checking in. The floors are this beautiful Carrara marble that’s been polished smooth by centuries of footsteps, and you can actually hear the history in every creak of the old wooden beams. What really got me though was how the staff treats you like you’re staying at a friend’s family palazzo rather than some impersonal hotel chain. The concierge (I think his name was Marco) knew exactly which local osteria served the best ribollita and actually drew me a little map on hotel stationary showing the quieter route through the side streets.

The rooms themselves are something else entirely – they’ve managed to keep all the period details intact while sneaking in modern comforts. My room had these impossibly high ceilings with exposed wooden beams, and the bathroom was tucked into what must have been a former servants’ alcove, complete with the original stone walls. The bed was positioned perfectly to catch the morning light streaming through these tall windows that overlooked a tiny internal courtyard where you could hear birds chirping instead of traffic noise. Actually, that’s one thing I really appreciated – despite being right in the heart of everything, it’s surprisingly quiet at night. The thick stone walls really do their job. I did notice the WiFi was a bit spotty in some corners of the building (old palazzos weren’t exactly built with internet infrastructure in mind), but honestly, it was kind of nice to disconnect a bit. The whole place just has this authentic, lived-in feeling that you can’t fake – like staying in someone’s beautifully maintained ancestral home rather than a hotel that’s trying too hard to look historic. If you’re the type of traveler who appreciates genuine character over cookie-cutter luxury, this place will absolutely charm your socks off.

La ducha y baño perfectos. La atención en el momento de la llegada (a pesar de que sufrimos varios retrasos) fue impecable. Para repetir sin duda

This apartment is like a work of art blending the original features of the historic property with a very modern design. It looks just like the pictures online. The host opened the door and showed us around the property as soon as we arrived. He was flexible with our giving him our arrival time on the morning of the day we arrived. He had added some very nice snacks and drinks in the apartment for us. We walked to the Verona arena for the opera and it was an easy, short walk. Truly a beautiful place and stay.

Property is gorgeous and well maintained. Giovanni is extremely nice and accommodating, great vibe.
The garden is beautiful, rooms are comfortable, kitchen is well equipped and they offered some amenities like water, coffee, a bottle of Prosecco, some snacks. Location is great, 5 min from everything but still in a quiet place. I’d stay there again.

What could be improved: I cannot complain about anything, but if I could suggest, would be nice to have some services on demand if desired. It’s a beautiful and expensive staying, so people who pay that price probably expect little luxuries as prosciutto, nuts, a carpaccio, formaggio, a pay per use service, etc

What could be improved: Alles war rundherum perfekt!

Appartamento appena rinnovato, molto ben fatto, posizione comodissima a pochi minuti a piedi da arena e piazza erbe. Proprietari molto cortesi e disponibili, davvero molto consigliato
