The bathroom? Marble everything, with rain showers that actually work – none of that weak trickle you sometimes get in historic spots. And the breakfast, oh man, served in this sunny atrium: fresh cornetti, local cheeses, and coffee strong enough to wake the dead, all while overlooking the quiet street below. It’s not dead silent at night – you might hear faint echoes from the bars on nearby Via Rosa during peak tourist season in summer – but honestly, it added to the vibe without keeping me up. One minor gripe? No elevator, so if you’re hauling heavy bags, pack light or ask for help; those stairs are steep but character-building, I suppose. Still, the Wi-Fi was spot-on, and they even have a small library with books on Verona’s opera scene – I spent an evening flipping through one, sipping prosecco from the minibar.

Look, if you’re heading to Verona for the Arena operas or just to soak up the Romeo and Juliet romance (Juliet’s balcony is a quick 10-minute stroll away), this place is a gem. It’s not one of those massive chain hotels; it’s intimate, with only a handful of rooms, so it feels personal – like you’re in on a local secret. At 4 stars with a near-perfect 9.9 rating, it’s pricey but worth it for the authenticity; I mean, where else can you stay in a palazzo that whispers stories of divas and duels?
