Pied à terre – Atelier Overview
You know what struck me first about Pied à terre – Atelier? The name itself tells you exactly what you’re getting into – this isn’t your typical cookie-cutter hotel experience. When I walked through those doors, it honestly felt more like stepping into someone’s carefully curated creative space than a standard 4-star property. There’s this immediate sense that whoever designed this place actually cares about the details that most hotels completely overlook.
The whole vibe is refreshingly understated – I mean, you’re not going to find marble lobbies or over-the-top chandeliers here, but that’s exactly the point. The interiors have this workshop-meets-boutique-hotel aesthetic that somehow manages to feel both polished and lived-in at the same time. My room had these gorgeous exposed elements that gave it character without feeling gimmicky, and honestly, the lighting was some of the best I’ve encountered in any hotel (you can actually read without squinting, imagine that). The beds are properly comfortable too – not too soft, not too firm, just that sweet spot where you actually wake up feeling rested instead of like you wrestled with your pillow all night.
What really sets this place apart though is how it manages to feel intimate without being cramped. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, they remember your name, and they’re genuinely helpful without that forced hospitality smile you get at bigger chains. I appreciated that they didn’t try to upsell me on everything under the sun either. The common areas have this relaxed energy where you might actually want to hang out with a coffee or glass of wine, rather than just rushing through to your room. And here’s something practical – the soundproofing is solid, so you’re not lying awake listening to every conversation in the hallway or street noise (trust me, I’m a light sleeper, so this matters). With an 8.7 rating, it’s clear other travelers are picking up on these same details that make a stay memorable rather than just functional. If you’re the type who’d rather stay somewhere with personality over a place that could be anywhere in the world, this atelier concept really delivers on that promise.
To book a hotel in Verona during major cultural festivals, travelers need early planning as this romantic city draws visitors eager to experience its Shakespearean heritage and medieval charm.

This apartment is a true gem in the city center. Spacious, elegantly furnished, and filled with natural light, it offers a perfect blend of comfort and style. What could be improved: Nothing, it's all perfect.Coryn from Australia – 29 December 2024 (9/10)
A fantastic location. Easy access to the apartment. Lift access. Aldi supermarket just around the corner. Host Simone responded to queries promptly before travel and while in Verona.
What could be improved: Nothing to dislike.Stela from Albania – 25 March 2024 (8/10)
Great location, good space, and a quiet neighborhood. Very easy to access the building.
What could be improved: It will be helpful to have shampoo in the bathroom and some slippers in the house.Francis from United States – 4 February 2024 (9/10)
Location was the best, walking distance to most attractions
What could be improved: I misunderstood and thought I was getting an apartment with kitchen. I had rented two bedrooms with a private bath. The entrance hall is shared, which meant that other people had to go thru shared hall to get to their rooms. That was a first for us. So using the bathroom in middle of night was difficult as people come and go. You can hear people come and go which would wake us up. Not having a kitchen was tough as I am a diabetic and needed to prepare certain meals for myself. Luckily there were vegetarian shops nearby.Nina from Philippines – 19 December 2023 (9/10)
I liked that it had an elevator because our apartment is on the 3rd floor. I loved the interior and fully equipped kitchen.
What could be improved: Only 2 available cooktop stove. For a big group, i think atleast 3 cooktop stoves should be available.Jennifer from Switzerland – 28 August 2023 (9/10)
The appartement is very nice and you have much space. The rooms are big and cosy. The explication of Simone to get into the house and the room is super easy and did go well. Simone is very gentil and helpful at any time. The appartement is near the Arena what also was very nice.

The owner was very welcoming and responded to all our needs, the place is clean and a very good value since it is at 2 minutes by foot from the Arena.
What could be improved: The neighbors are a bit difficult to deal with. Particular caution is advised for noisylarge groups.
