Residence Villa Mainard Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to Residence Villa Mainard, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away on Via Don G. Trevisani. The building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention — which, after staying there, I realized is exactly the point. You know what struck me most? The immediate sense of calm once you step inside, like you’ve found this little pocket of tranquility that most tourists rushing through Verona completely miss.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s the thing about the location — it’s not right in the historic center, but that’s actually what makes it brilliant. You’re about a 15-minute walk from Juliet’s balcony and all that tourist chaos, but you can actually find parking here without losing your mind. The free private parking on-site is honestly a game-changer if you’re driving in Italy (and let’s be real, parking in Verona’s center costs a fortune). I mean, couples seem to get this — the feedback shows they rate this place particularly high for romantic getaways, probably because you can explore the city during the day and retreat to somewhere peaceful at night.
The Accommodation Experience
The room I stayed in felt more like a well-appointed apartment than a typical hotel space. There’s this attention to detail that you notice gradually — the way the lighting works, how everything just feels… comfortable. And honestly, those beds live up to the hype. I’m usually a light sleeper, especially when traveling, but I slept like a rock here. The kitchenette setup is particularly clever if you want to grab some local ingredients from the market and have a quiet dinner in rather than dealing with crowded restaurants every night.
What Sets It Apart
What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to anticipate what you’d need without being intrusive about it. It’s that kind of service where they remember your name and actually care about making your stay work for you. The property has this residential feel — like you’re staying in a friend’s really nice place rather than just another hotel. The recent guest ratings (8.4 for location) make sense when you experience how easy it is to slip into a local rhythm here rather than feeling like you’re constantly “doing tourism.”
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want to be in the thick of Verona’s tourist scene every second, this might not be your spot. But if you’re looking for a place where you can actually relax between exploring, where you won’t fight crowds just to get to your front door, and where you’ll sleep better than you have in months — well, that’s exactly what Villa Mainard delivers. The combination of genuine comfort, smart location, and that rare feeling of being somewhere special without the pretense makes it the kind of place you’ll actually want to return to.
To book a hotel in Verona during major cultural festivals, travelers need early planning as this romantic city draws visitors eager to experience its Shakespearean heritage and medieval charm.

Reviews of Residence Villa Mainard

We very much appreciated the large spaces for our large family. We were a short ten minute drive to central Verona. In the local neighborhood we found great restaurants. Gelato. A bank and grocery store. With so many traveling in our family we were grateful for the washing machine. Parking was spacious and secure for our large van. Towels and linens and beds were great. The reception staff were very helpful to answer questions and offer helpful suggestions for our needs. We highly recommend this place!

Everything was very good and comfortable.Melissa from United States – 21 August 2023 (9/10)
We had two apartments, one for a family of five and the other for two. Both apartments were fantastic. Air conditioning worked well- better than many other Italian apartments. The amount of space in the apartments was great- we had more than enough room. Everything was clean, garden was beautiful. There is a small grocery (Vivo), cafe with good coffee and croissants (DolceAmor) a bakery and a bus stop all within 5min. There is also a park that our kids enjoyed playing in within 15min.
What could be improved: The washer can only handle a few clothes and there is no dryer. This is quite standard in Italy from my experience, and we still greatly appreciated having them for our extended stay.Erdem from Netherlands – 18 August 2023 (9/10)
Nice location, cozy apartment with kind and helpful owners.

Villa Mainard looks as it does in the picture and has everything described. Being self-catering there was everything you needed and if you needed anything extra all you had to do was ask and this was given. The owners were really lovely and helpful. You could even do your own washing and ironing for free. You are five minutes in either direction of a Pizzeria which is excellent value for money. Breakfast was a five minutes’ walk to a lovely patisserie with freshly baked pastries made by hand and excellent value for money. The bus stop for going to Verona and beyond was a five-minute walk and came every 15 minutes. The bus stopped directly opposite Porto Nuovo train station as well as stopping in Verona centre. The town has a lovely Gelato Place, and the mini supermarket has everything you need. Villa Mainard provided free bikes to use, and this enables you to cycle around the town. The room we stayed in was great. The shower pressure was excellent, the air conditioning was excellent too and you could even get one UK channel on the TV which was great should you want to stay in and relax. The kitchen has everything you need to make a meal. For the location, facilities and what Villa Mainard offers the price was very good. There was plenty of room for parking should you drive. I would stay at Villa Mainard again.

It’s a lovely quiet villa with plenty of secure parking. The family owners are very friendly and welcoming. The apartment was spotlessly clean, had a lovely view and a very comfortable bed. The AC units worked really well which is much appreciated when the temperature is high.
