Residenza Borsari Overview
You know what struck me first about Residenza Borsari? It’s one of those places that actually lives up to its stellar 9.0 rating without trying too hard. I mean, when you see numbers that high, you sort of brace yourself for disappointment – but honestly, this little gem in Verona gets it right in all the ways that matter.
The thing about this boutique spot is that it feels like someone’s incredibly stylish relative decided to open their historic palazzo to guests. The building itself has that authentic Italian character you can’t fake – thick walls that keep things blissfully quiet (trust me, you’ll appreciate this if you’ve stayed anywhere near Verona’s busier tourist strips), and these gorgeous period details that remind you you’re sleeping somewhere with actual history. The rooms have this perfect balance of old-world charm and modern comfort – like, the bathrooms are genuinely luxurious without being over-the-top, and the beds are the kind you actually want to linger in during those lazy Sunday mornings. I particularly loved how they’ve kept the original architectural elements but added touches like really good lighting and proper outlets where you need them. It’s clear someone who actually travels designed these spaces.
What really sets Residenza Borsari apart, though, is the location and the service – both feel authentically Veronese rather than generic hotel-ish. The staff genuinely knows the city and will steer you toward the little wine bars locals actually frequent, not just the obvious tourist spots. And speaking of location, you’re close enough to walk to all the major sights without being in the thick of the crowds – there’s something to be said for being able to slip away to a peaceful courtyard after a day of sightseeing. The morning routine here is particularly lovely; they do breakfast right, with proper Italian coffee and fresh pastries that taste like they came from the neighborhood bakery (because they probably did). I found myself looking forward to those quiet morning moments before the city fully woke up. Honestly, for a four-star property, it punches well above its weight – this is the kind of place that makes you want to return to Verona just to stay here again.
Exploring Verona offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Italy’s city of love, from its ancient Roman ruins to its Renaissance palaces and world-renowned romantic literature connections.

Gorgeous bedroom and bathroom, with plants everywhere. Loved the way the bathroom mirror doubled as a to screen!
The proprietor was so kind and flexible, coming specially to enable us to leave our luggage early, and letting us leave it at the property all day on the day we left. She went out of her way to help us!Rebekah from United Kingdom – 23 February 2025 (9/10)
This was a charming hotel with history. Our rooms was so peaceful and quite large. Michele also made us feel relaxed and welcome even though we made our booking last minute.

Ideally located, beautiful, spacious and comfortable room. Fantastic breakfast and friendly staff. If arriving by car, you can drive into the pedestrian zone to unload your vehicle. They will turn your license tag into the police to avoid tickets. Once unloaded, park at Arsenale Parking and take a short walk (about 5 minutes) back to the hotel.
