Residenza Borsari Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Residenza Borsari on Corso Porta Borsari, you immediately get that “I’m staying somewhere special” feeling. This four-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Verona‘s historic center, and I mean literally — you’re steps away from ancient Roman gates and medieval streets that tourists spend hours trying to find. The building itself has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with the surrounding architecture, nothing flashy but clearly well-maintained and thoughtfully designed.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about this spot — you can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes, but you’re not stuck in the middle of tourist chaos. The Corso Porta Borsari is this lovely pedestrian street lined with cafes and shops, and honestly, just sitting outside with a coffee watching people go by is half the entertainment. Piazza delle Erbe is right around the corner, and you know what? You’ll probably end up there every evening because it’s just that kind of magnetic place. The location score of 9.9 makes total sense when you realize you can explore everything on foot without feeling like you’re camping in Times Square.

The Room Experience

I’ll be straight with you — the rooms aren’t huge, but they’re designed so well that it doesn’t matter. Everything feels intentional, from the comfortable beds (and they really are comfortable, not just hotel marketing speak) to the way natural light fills the space during the day. The bathrooms are modern and functional, which is actually refreshing when you’re staying in a historic building where sometimes character comes at the expense of practicality. You get that perfect balance of old-world charm with modern conveniences that actually work properly.

Morning Routine

The breakfast setup is continental and buffet style — nothing revolutionary, but it’s done right. Fresh pastries, good coffee, and enough variety to fuel your day of wandering around Verona’s cobblestone streets. What I appreciate is that they don’t try to overcomplicate things; it’s quality basics served in a pleasant setting. You can grab something quick if you’re eager to get out exploring, or linger a bit if you’re the type who likes to ease into the day.

Why Guests Love It

The thing about Residenza Borsari is that it gets the fundamentals right without any unnecessary fuss. You’re staying in one of Italy’s most romantic cities, in a location that couples consistently rate as nearly perfect (that 9.9 rating from couples isn’t an accident), and you get a genuinely good night’s sleep in comfortable surroundings. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town — it’s trying to be the place where you have the best overall experience in Verona, and honestly, it succeeds. When you can walk out your door and immediately feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it, that’s when you know you’ve picked the right spot.

Exploring Verona offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Italy’s city of love, from its ancient Roman ruins to its Renaissance palaces and world-renowned romantic literature connections.

  • Christiania from Switzerland – 16 March 2025 (9/10)

Gorgeous bedroom and bathroom, with plants everywhere. Loved the way the bathroom mirror doubled as a to screen!
The proprietor was so kind and flexible, coming specially to enable us to leave our luggage early, and letting us leave it at the property all day on the day we left. She went out of her way to help us!

  • Rebekah from United Kingdom – 23 February 2025 (9/10)

This was a charming hotel with history. Our rooms was so peaceful and quite large. Michele also made us feel relaxed and welcome even though we made our booking last minute.

What could be improved: I would've liked a king size bed.

  • Adrianne from United States – 8 October 2024 (9/10)

Ideally located, beautiful, spacious and comfortable room. Fantastic breakfast and friendly staff. If arriving by car, you can drive into the pedestrian zone to unload your vehicle. They will turn your license tag into the police to avoid tickets. Once unloaded, park at Arsenale Parking and take a short walk (about 5 minutes) back to the hotel.
