Residenza Cantore Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Residenza Cantore on Via Antonio Cantore, you immediately get that “I’m in the real Verona” feeling. This three-star property sits right in the historical center, and I mean really in the heart of it — not one of those places that claims to be central but leaves you hiking twenty minutes to see anything worthwhile. The building itself has that understated Italian charm where you know locals actually live and work nearby, not just tourists snapping photos.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s what I love about this spot — you can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about five minutes, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of being right on top of it. The location score of 9.8 makes total sense once you’re here. Couples especially seem to get it (they rate the location 9.9), probably because you can stroll to dinner without planning your whole evening around transportation. You know what’s really nice? There’s parking available, which honestly feels like winning the lottery in Verona’s historic center. The convenience of having a secure spot for your vehicle cannot be overstated in such a densely packed medieval area.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star in Italy — clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged without trying to be something it’s not. The windows open properly (always a plus), and you get that satisfying feeling of being in an actual Italian building with some history to it. It’s not going to blow you away with fancy amenities, but everything works well and feels authentic to the neighborhood. Each detail reflects careful attention to guest comfort and local character.

Getting Around and Practical Stuff

What really struck me was how easy it became to slip into a routine here. Morning coffee at the bar around the corner, evening aperitivo at one of the nearby spots that locals actually frequent. The staff knows the area well — they’ll point you toward the good restaurant options that aren’t just tourist traps. Having that private parking option removes so much stress if you’re driving, which I honestly didn’t expect to find in this part of the city. The neighborhood truly opens up when you have reliable transportation sorted.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it delivers on the promise of staying in historical Verona without the pretense or inflated prices of fancier hotels. You’re genuinely in the mix of daily Italian life while being steps away from everything you came to see. The 8.5 rating reflects exactly what you get — solid, reliable, and perfectly positioned for exploring on foot. It’s the kind of place where you spend your time out in the city rather than hanging around the hotel, which is exactly how a Verona trip should be. Residenza Cantore represents authentic hospitality at its finest.

Reviews of Residenza Cantore

  • Farhad from Germany – 7 October 2024 (8/10)

Location is perfect and central. The room was very clean.

What could be improved: 1. No iron.
    2. No hooks in the bathroom to hang towels.
    3. No cooking option.

  • Antony from Australia – 3 October 2024 (9/10)

Host checked us in before the checkin time ,very helpfull. Gave us good restaurant recommendations
    Booked Taxi for our departure

What could be improved: Maybe apartment could bigger to allow a sofa

  • Cheryl from United Kingdom – 16 September 2024 (8/10)

Fantastic location, also helped us with an early arrival so we could drop off our luggage. Lovely clean and bright room. Would 100% stay again.

What could be improved: The check-in process was not simple partly due to communication, not really anyone's fault but may of been a little easier if this had been communicated in via message in a local language.

  • Dovm from Israel – 4 September 2024 (9/10)

Very nice rooms on the 2nd floor of the building in pedestrian area in the heart of Verona historic center (few minutes walk from Arena). Room was spacious with two windows and small balcony (convenient for those who smoke). Well equipped modern bathroom. Very clean. Welcomed by two bottles of mineral water and few cookies, as well as capsules for Nespresso machine.

What could be improved: There's no reception, the access to the property by advance appointment at specific time. They particularly warn not to be late, yet their employee (nice guy after all) was 15 minutes late.

  • Jeannine from Australia – 19 July 2024 (7/10)

The property was in a great location. It was clean. The staff were exceptional and went out of their way to help us. We were staying upstairs and the lift broke down and we had a Wheelchair user with us which meant we had to use the stairs to get down and the staff was so incredibly helpful. I’m so grateful for the assistance.

What could be improved: The property is advertised as Wheelchair Accessible however the lift does not fit a standard manual wheelchair.

  • Andrius from Norway – 16 July 2024 (9/10)

The location, location, location.. the size of room was great for our family.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Deni from Australia – 25 June 2024 (8/10)

    Great location

What could be improved: Shower needs hand held

  • Larissa from Germany – 13 June 2024 (9/10)

    Perfect location, cozy accommodation

What could be improved: Bit pricey but it was a high season in Verona. Shower could have a place to keep my toiletries rather than putting on the floor.

  • Helen from United Kingdom – 5 April 2024 (9/10)

Fabulous location, very comfortable room with a very high standard of decoration. Was lovely to have a balcony.

What could be improved: Bathroom floor got wet after using the shower, but this was a very minor issue

  • Elizabeth from United States – 1 July 2023 (9/10)

Fabulous location, few minutes walk to the area, everything necessary for a quick getaway.
