Residenza dei Signori – Italian Homing Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Residenza dei Signori – Italian Homing feels like discovering a secret that locals have been keeping to themselves. The entrance sits tucked away in Piazza dei Signori, and honestly, you might walk past it twice before realizing you’ve found your hotel. But that’s part of the charm — this four-star property doesn’t need flashy signage when it’s literally positioned in one of Verona‘s most stunning medieval squares. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’re staying somewhere genuinely special, not just another tourist accommodation.
The Heart of Medieval Verona
You know what’s incredible about this location? You’re actually sleeping where Verona’s political power once resided — Piazza dei Signori was the city’s government center for centuries. Step outside your door and you’re surrounded by the Palazzo della Ragione, the Loggia del Consiglio, and Dante’s statue (yes, that Dante). I mean, couples consistently rate this spot a perfect 10, and after spending time here, I completely understand why. The evening passeggiata happens right outside your window, and watching locals gather for aperitivo in the square never gets old.
The Accommodation Experience
The room I stayed in perfectly balanced historical character with modern comfort — think exposed beams and contemporary furnishings that actually work together. What impressed me most was how quiet everything felt despite being in such a central location. The windows are well-insulated, so you get all the atmosphere without the late-night noise that sometimes comes with staying in busy piazzas. The attention to detail is evident everywhere, from the quality linens to the thoughtful lighting that makes evening reading actually pleasant.
Exploring from Your Doorstep
Here’s something guidebooks don’t always mention — you’re about a three-minute walk from both Juliet’s House and the Arche Scaligere (those incredible Gothic tombs). But more importantly, you’re positioned perfectly for discovering Verona’s excellent wine bars and osterias. Via Mazzini, the main shopping street, is literally around the corner, and the walk to the Arena takes maybe eight minutes through some of the city’s most beautiful medieval streets. Having stayed in other parts of Verona, I can honestly say this location spoils you for anywhere else.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this place apart isn’t just the incredible location score — it’s how the property makes you feel like a temporary resident rather than a tourist passing through. The staff clearly understands that people choose this spot because they want to experience authentic Verona, not just visit it. You’ll find yourself lingering in the piazza with your morning coffee, people-watching from your window, and taking evening strolls that feel more like living in a Renaissance painting than checking items off a sightseeing list. For couples especially, there’s something undeniably romantic about falling asleep in a medieval palace square and waking up to church bells echoing off ancient stone walls.

Location and size.
What could be improved: We weren’t contacted before a member of staff entered our rooms startling us, due to plumbing issues we had reported earlier. I appreciated the attention, but permission would have been appreciated.Lynda from United Kingdom – 1 January 2025 (9/10)
Great location and facilities.

Location was perfect. The apartment was very 'Italian'.
The air con was amazing as the nights we stayed was 34 in the day and didn't drop below 25 through the night.
What could be improved: We loved everything 💜Ruth from United Kingdom – 4 September 2024 (9/10)

Alec from Switzerland – 31 August 2024 (9/10)
The beautiful central location, the classical interior design, the atmosphere of the place.
Rhonda from Australia – 11 August 2024 (9/10)
The location, balcony, comfort and facilities were all brilliant. There’s also a lift which is rare in old town areas! Coffee Pods were provided for coffee and there were a few washing machine tablets too. Host was easy to contact and responsive. We loved the history if the building. used to be judges apartments where they could go directly across the bridge (now a terrace on the next level) to courts do people couldn’t bribe them.
What could be improved: The place is wonderful; just for information, we had difficulty trying to order a taxi as they have to come outside the Piazza. However the wonderful restaurant people showed us where there was a taxi cab spot, in the next Piazza, less than 100 metres away.Ola from Poland – 23 January 2024 (9/10)
This place is insane! It gives you an authentic experience of living in a real Italian aristocratic family house. Or at least that’s how I imagine it must feel like :-). The location is the best – in the strict heart of the historic part of the city, however slightly away from the most crowded areas. Cosy, lovely, truly unique.
What could be improved: We had some problems with adjusting the heating appliances, but a call to technical support solved the problemMilcheva from Bulgaria – 12 January 2024 (8/10)

The view from the apartment
The heating system
Nice and specious
What could be improved: Uncomfortable bed, need new mattress
The door of the shower cabin needs to be fixed
Couldn’t watch tv, tv not working

It is a beautiful apartment in the very center of Verona. It is best designed for two people, however it was also convenient for us with a teenager sleeping on the sofa. The view is perfect. It is, in fact, the most crowded place in the town and center of its nightlife, but the windows were soundproof. A well equiped kitchen and a big bathroom. If one can afford the rather high price, the apartment is perfect for a longer stay.
What could be improved: Two minor things: If you plan day excursions, as we did, you have to use transportation to the trainstation. But for the city of Verona itself everything is in walking distance. The other thing is, there are very strict rules for separating the garbage and no separate bins in the house.Soon from Malaysia – 5 August 2023 (9/10)
Great location. Located exactly at the Piazza.
What could be improved: Don’t run too many appliances at the same time, otherwise the electricity will tripped. I guess it’s normal for an old building
