There’s a lovely little cafe just around the corner where locals grab their morning espresso, and I found myself becoming a regular during my stay.

The accommodations at Residenza Leoncino have this refined, residential feel that makes you forget you’re in a hotel. My room had original hardwood floors and these gorgeous high ceilings that you just don’t see in newer properties. The furnishings strike a nice balance between traditional Italian style and modern comfort — nothing too fancy, but everything feels thoughtfully chosen. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, with excellent water pressure (always a concern in historic buildings). What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing; despite being in the city center, I slept remarkably well.

They’re incredibly knowledgeable about Verona and seem genuinely invested in making sure you experience the city like a local rather than just another tourist. I mean, they pointed me toward this incredible osteria that I never would have found on my own — the kind of place where you’re the only non-Italian in the room. The common areas are minimal but elegant, and there’s something refreshing about a property that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone.

  Everything was great, a lovely big room with towels, hairdryer, toiletries & coffee machine (Room 2). Communication with the owner was also great through WhatsApp and the check in / check out process was easy. Very close to the Arena with lots of restaurants nearby, walking distance to the train station too.
  
  What could be improved: Noise from the road was very loud during the night, we live in central london so used to traffic noise but we woke up a lot from passing cars & even people walking by talking. Not the properties fault but worth mentioning for any light sleepers.
  
  Perhaps also needs so extra pegs to hang towels.

  The room was very clean and spacious, very pretty with a very pretty balcony. The guy who welcomed us was very attentive, he let us check in early and sent us several tips for restaurants and tours. Very attentive, easy to find accommodation.
