But I was completely wrong, and I mean completely. This 4-star gem actually lives up to its 9.3 rating in ways that surprised me.

The first thing that hits you is how intimate the whole place feels. It’s not one of those massive hotel complexes where you’re just another room number – there’s maybe 20 rooms total, which means the staff actually remembers your name by day two. The owner (I think his name was Marco, but don’t quote me on that) was there during check-in and genuinely seemed to care about whether we’d had a good trip getting there. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feeling with actual books on the shelves – not just decorative ones – and you’ll probably find a few other guests chatting over coffee in the evening. The rooms themselves are where this place really shines though. Mine had these gorgeous hardwood floors that creaked just slightly when you walked across them, which somehow added to the charm rather than being annoying. The bed was one of those situations where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed, and the linens – honestly, I don’t know what thread count they were, but they felt expensive. There’s this attention to small details that you don’t always get at bigger places: proper hangers in the closet, enough outlets near the bed, a mirror positioned where you can actually use it.

What really sold me was the atmosphere during the quieter hours. Around 10 PM, when most of the other guests had settled in, you could sit in the common area and actually hear yourself think. No elevator dings every five minutes, no ice machines grinding away down the hall. Just the kind of peaceful environment where you can unwind after a long day of sightseeing. The breakfast setup isn’t elaborate – they do a simple continental spread – but everything tastes fresh and there’s always someone around to make you a proper coffee if the self-serve isn’t cutting it. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like a boutique experience than a standard hotel stay. Fair warning though – if you’re the type who needs a gym, spa, or room service menu, you might want to look elsewhere. But if you value character, genuine hospitality, and a place where you can actually relax, Romantic House 369 delivers on all fronts.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Verona at least two months ahead for major events like opera performances and wine festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular romantic sites.
