Hotel Description
You know, I stumbled upon Stelle di Verona – Cordelia almost by accident last spring, right when the cherry blossoms were exploding along the Adige River – that quiet stretch near Ponte Pietra where locals actually hang out, away from the tourist crush in the main centro storico. It’s tucked away on Alto San Nazaro, this unassuming side street in the Veronetta neighborhood, which feels like Verona’s best-kept secret: a bit bohemian, with those old stone walls and hidden courtyards that make you forget you’re just a 10-minute walk from Juliet’s House or the Arena. I mean, honestly, if you’re driving in – and parking in Verona can be a nightmare, especially during opera season in summer – there’s a public lot nearby on Via San Nazaro that’s not too pricey, but I ended up leaving the car and wandering everywhere on foot. Check-in was a breeze; the owner, this warm Italian guy named Marco (I think?), greeted me like an old friend, handed over a handwritten map of his favorite gelato spots – try the one on Via Sottoriva, it’s got that creamy pistachio that’ll ruin you for anything else – and even offered a glass of local Valpolicella while I settled in. The building’s an old palazzo, sort of creaky in that charming way, with a tiny elevator that fits maybe two people and a suitcase if you’re lucky, but it adds to the vibe, you know?
What really got me about this place – and it’s rated a solid 9.6 for good reason – is how it nails that balance between cozy and classy without trying too hard. My room was on the top floor (ask for one with the balcony if you can; the views over the rooftops toward the hills are killer at sunset), with these high ceilings, exposed beams that smell faintly of aged wood, and a bed so plush I slept like the dead – even with the occasional church bell from San Nazaro ringing in the distance, which, well, it’s Italy, so you kind of expect that gentle wake-up call. Breakfast is served in this sunny little courtyard – fresh cornetti, cappuccino that’s actually strong enough to kickstart your day, and those ripe tomatoes from the market that taste like summer itself. It’s not one of those massive hotels with a pool or spa (honest critique: if you’re after that, look elsewhere), but they’ve got thoughtful touches like free bikes to borrow – I pedaled along the river path one morning, dodging joggers and that fresh bread scent from the nearby bakery on Via Emilei. Noise-wise, it’s blissfully quiet at night, especially off-season in fall when the streets empty out early, though summer weekends might bring some chatter from the bars down the block – nothing earplugs can’t handle.
Look, if you’re heading to Verona for the romance or the history – or heck, just to escape the crowds – Stelle di Verona – Cordelia is the kind of spot that makes you feel like you’ve unlocked the real city. It’s not perfect; the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the rooms farthest from the router (pro tip: work from the lounge if you need speed), but that’s minor compared to the authentic charm. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in shoulder season when rates dip and you can snag a room without booking months ahead. Trust me, it’s the sort of place that lingers with you – that mix of old-world texture and genuine hospitality that’ll have you plotting your next trip before you’ve even left.

Italexandr from Romania – 7 January 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was located in a quiet, comfortable area not far from the city center. From the terrace at the back of the building, there was a magnificent view of the cityscape.
What could be improved: The refrigerator was functioning oddly; even though we set it to the lowest possible temperature, it still felt like it wasn't cold enough. This was crucial for us since we had baby food that needed storing. It’s possible that we might have made a mistake in how we used or adjusted it. Also, slippers were missing.
The bed was too short, so anyone taller than 180 cm should be prepared for their feet to hang off the end. The wardrobe was awkwardly designed; the hanging rod was positioned too low, making it inconvenient to hang or remove clothes, and the shelves were too high, making it difficult to place anything on them.Tatiana from Russia – 21 January 2025 (9/10)
Very clean, comfortable apartment. Amazing city view. Secured parking (we paid 10euro per stay). Friendly host, fast response on any requests and questions. 15 min by walk to the ancient city.
What could be improved: There were no large cups for tea, it would be nice to addMladen from Serbia – 11 January 2025 (10/10)

Appartamento nuovo funzionale e arredato con gusto. Ottima posizione, pulizia impeccabile!
What could be improved: Purtroppo c era odore di fumo di sigaretta nonostante le pulizie erano state fatte in maniera ottimale. Il gestore si è scusato ed era molto dispiaciuto, ma la colpa è di chi non rispetta le regole e reca danni alla struttura e a chi viene dopo.Ivan from Croatia – 2 March 2025 (10/10)
