I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Suite Color Verona, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the smaller hotels are the ones that actually get it right, and this little gem totally caught me off guard with how thoughtfully everything was put together.

The whole place has this intimate, almost boutique feel that’s hard to find in Verona these days, especially with all the tourist crowds that flood the city during opera season. What really struck me was how quiet it stays – I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to all the main sights, but somehow they’ve managed to tuck themselves away from the constant buzz of tour groups and Vespa traffic that can drive you crazy in the historic center. The suites themselves are surprisingly spacious (and I’m someone who’s been disappointed by “suite” claims before), with these lovely color schemes that actually make sense – none of that jarring hotel décor that looks like it was picked by committee. The bathrooms are particularly well done, with proper water pressure and those little touches that show someone was actually thinking about what guests need, not just what looks good in photos.

Here’s the thing that really won me over though – the staff genuinely seems to know the city, not just the standard tourist script. When I mentioned I was looking for a decent aperitivo spot that wasn’t completely overrun, they pointed me toward this little place tucked behind Piazza delle Erbe that I never would’ve found on my own. That kind of local insight is honestly worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to experience Verona like an actual person instead of just another tourist with a camera. The 9.0 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be some grand luxury experience, but what it does, it does really well. Check-in was smooth, the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building (you’d be surprised how many places mess this up), and honestly, I slept better there than I have at some supposedly fancier hotels. If you’re planning to visit during summer, just know that Verona gets pretty warm and the city can feel a bit overwhelming, but this place gives you that perfect retreat feeling where you can recharge between exploring the Roman amphitheater and getting lost in those winding medieval streets.

  Absolutely lovely! The owners were very kind and hospitable. They gave us great tips on what to visit in the city. The room was big enough, clean and very cosy. The location is a bit remote, but also very calm, so we had an excellent sleep.
  
  What could be improved: Nothing really. Room was a but cold when we arrived, but we increased the heating and it got nice and warm quite quickly.

  The rooms were so fun and cute! Staff was so friendly and accommodating. When one of the kids left their hat in a room, host very graciously worked with us to mail it back. So very kind since the hat was sentimental.
