You know what? Tanny’s Home completely caught me off guard in the best possible way. I’ll be honest – when I first booked this 3-star spot, I wasn’t expecting much beyond a clean bed and decent WiFi. But walking through those doors, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place, and it shows in every corner.

The whole vibe feels like you’re staying at a friend’s well-appointed house rather than some cookie-cutter hotel chain. Tanny (yes, there’s an actual person behind the name) has managed to create something special here – the kind of place where the staff remembers your coffee order by day two and actually means it when they ask how your day went. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake; nothing’s trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect, but everything just works. I mean, the beds are seriously comfortable – not too soft, not too firm – and the linens feel like they’ve been chosen by someone who actually sleeps in hotel beds themselves. The bathrooms are spotless without feeling sterile, and honestly, the water pressure is better than what I have at home.

What really won me over though was the attention to those little things that matter when you’re away from home. There’s always fresh coffee available (not just in the morning), the front desk keeps phone chargers for every device known to humanity, and – this is going to sound weird but stick with me – the lighting throughout the place is actually pleasant. You know how most hotels have that harsh fluorescent thing going on? Not here. It’s warm and welcoming, especially in the evenings when you’re winding down. The common areas invite you to linger a bit, maybe chat with other guests, which doesn’t happen often these days. I ended up having some great conversations with fellow travelers over breakfast – speaking of which, they do this simple continental spread that’s fresh and satisfying without being overwhelming. The rating of 9.3 makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s not trying to be luxury, but it absolutely nails what it sets out to do. Sure, you won’t find a spa or room service menu, but if you want a place that feels genuine and where the people running it clearly take pride in what they do, Tanny’s Home delivers that in spades.

  Very clean and comfortable. About 10minutes walk from the city centre and railway station. Tanny kept in touch with us on our journey and met us at the property. She even offered to pick us up at the station.
  
  What could be improved: It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in our room as it has a shared kitchen. This was not a deal breaker but we would have preferred it.

  Great place to stay. Near the station and the old city where the sights are. Quiet street. Spotlessly clean. Supermarket just up the road for breakfast items. Big fridge, dining table and TV in the shared area. Excellent private bathroom. Warm welcome. The host was super helpful. Strongly recommended.

  What could be improved: Booking.com wrote that parking was included, which was a criteria for us. It turned out there was no parking for all the rooms. According to the host it was booking.com who made the mistake.
