Tenuta EnGi Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Tenuta EnGi? I wasn’t expecting to find such a genuine sense of place at what’s technically a 4-star property. I mean, that 9.1 rating had me curious, but honestly – ratings can be misleading sometimes. This one isn’t, though. The moment you pull up, there’s this immediate feeling that you’ve stumbled onto something special, something that hasn’t been designed by committee or focus-grouped to death.

The whole property has this authentic Italian countryside vibe that actually feels lived-in rather than staged. I’m talking about those little imperfections that make a place real – the way the stone pathways have settled slightly over time, how the garden seems to grow a bit wild in all the right spots. The staff here genuinely knows their stuff too, not in that overly rehearsed way you get at some places, but like they actually care about what they’re doing. During check-in, the woman at the desk spent ten minutes telling me about this local trattoria that doesn’t even show up on Google Maps (and she was absolutely right about their ragu, by the way).

What really gets me about Tenuta EnGi is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between rustic charm and actual comfort. The rooms feel substantial – thick walls that keep things properly quiet, beds that don’t leave you tossing around all night, bathrooms with decent water pressure. It’s not flashy luxury, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should. The grounds are perfect for wandering around in the evening with a glass of wine, and there are these little seating areas tucked away where you can actually hear yourself think. I spent way more time than planned just sitting outside watching the light change across the landscape. Parking‘s easy too, which honestly matters more than people admit – there’s nothing worse than circling around looking for a spot after a long day of driving. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentic without sacrificing the basics, this is exactly what you want. It’s the kind of spot that makes you understand why people fall in love with this part of the world in the first place.

Verona’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Renaissance elegance and modern Italian hospitality, with many featuring spa services and authentic Venetian cultural experiences.

  • Petra from Slovenia – 3 July 2024 (10/10)

The rooms are big and cold in the summer so is great to hide from the heat. The swimming pool is amazing for kids, loads of toys and a slide! Easy to find location, parking spaces available. Comfortable check in.
Great to be in the Italian countryside.
Would love to stay longer next time.

What could be improved: The walls are thin so if you have neighbours that don't know how to be quiet, it can be a problem.
