Hotel Description
I remember stumbling upon VeronaJourneys Emilei during a spontaneous trip to Verona last spring – you know, that time of year when the city starts buzzing with tourists but hasn’t hit peak chaos yet. I booked one of their spots right off Via Cappello, just a stone’s throw from Juliet’s House, which honestly feels a bit touristy during the day but quiets down nicely after sunset. It’s not your typical hotel setup; they’ve got these apartments scattered around the historical center, like hidden gems in old palazzos. Mine was in a building that must’ve been around since the Renaissance – creaky wooden floors that echo a little when you walk, and those tall shuttered windows that let in the morning light filtered through ivy. Check-in was straightforward but sort of low-key; you pick up keys from a central spot near Piazza delle Erbe, and the staff – mostly locals who speak great English – gave me a quick rundown on where to grab the best gelato (there’s this tiny place on Via Stella that’s unbeatable, trust me). No fancy lobby or anything, which I actually appreciated; it felt more like crashing at a friend’s place in the heart of things rather than some sterile chain.
What really won me over, though, was how these places blend that old-world charm with just enough modern touches to make you comfortable. My apartment had a kitchenette – nothing huge, but perfect for whipping up espresso from beans I snagged at the market on Corso Porta Borsari. The bed was comfy, with linens that smelled faintly of lavender (they must use some local detergent or something), and the bathroom was spotless, though the shower pressure could be a tad stronger after a long day wandering. I mean, Verona’s cobblestone streets will wear you out – especially if you’re trekking to the Arena for an opera in summer, when it gets packed and the evening air hums with anticipation. Noise-wise, it’s mostly peaceful at night, aside from the occasional Vespa zipping by or church bells tolling from Santa Anastasia nearby, which adds to the atmosphere rather than annoying you. Oh, and parking? Forget it if you’re driving; the historical center’s a nightmare for cars – better to stash yours at the train station lot and walk or grab a bike. There was a minor hiccup with the Wi-Fi dropping out once, but honestly, it forced me to unplug and people-watch from the balcony, sipping wine while overlooking the Adige River haze in the distance.
All in all, if you’re the type who wants to live like a Veronese for a few days – weaving through the morning markets on Piazza Bra or catching the sunset from Ponte Pietra without rushing back to some out-of-town hotel – this is your spot. It’s got that 4-star polish without feeling pretentious, and with an 8.4 rating, it’s clear others agree. Sure, it might not suit folks needing round-the-clock service (no room service here, folks), but for independent travelers, it’s gold. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially off-season when the crowds thin and you can snag a quieter location. Just pack light – those stairs in the older buildings are no joke!

comfortable apartment with a nice view on the Adige and city
What could be improved: We only had one key for apartment but we spent weekend with friends and it is not practical and someone was always waiting for someone…key box with code on the entrance is one of the cheaper solution.Georgi from Bulgaria – 8 April 2025 (9/10)
Very nice apartment. There are all kinds of accessories for cooking and having family dinner.
Definitely recommend to change matrices. It is good to remove from description that parking is available. In old city of Verona have no parking places for visitors!Linda from United States – 5 April 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Older building so a few issues there, staff was very accommodating about itPlamen from Bulgaria – 30 January 2025 (9/10)

This place is a gem in Verona. It's very spacious and have all commodities you need. Host was very helpful despite a short notice reservation.
What could be improved: Nothing to complaint about. There is nothing wrong with this place, and location is just perfect! Licia was very kind and helpful and took the time to provide some recommendations of places to visit.Sarah from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (9/10)
Excellent location in the old town with many restaurants and cafes nearby. Well furnished quiet appartment in an old block with comfortable bed and good kitchen.
What could be improved: All good.Kylah from United Kingdom – 4 September 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was very nice, clean, good location. It was roomy for 4 of us.
What could be improved: The only suggestion I have is to maybe keep a few things for cooking that someone who is only staying for a few days to use like oil and sugar. But besides that there are no complaints.Anja from Serbia – 28 August 2024 (7/10)
The apartment in Via Enrico de Nicolis is well located, nice and clean. Private parking garage is next to the apartment, but the size of the vehicle that can enter is limited.
What could be improved: The host wasn't helpful or very pleasant.
The prices of the public parking are not correct on their booking profile and even though they said on their profile that reservation is not needed, a day before arrival I got the information that I should reserve a parking spot (which means that it should be paid in advance via site).Vladova from United Kingdom – 19 August 2024 (9/10)
Good location, walking distance to everything.
Nice little flat with everything you need already provided ( linen, cutlery, even some water in the fridge, washing machine in the bathroom ).
Quiet and relaxing with good Air conditioning.
The young man who checked us in was extremely polite and helpful, giving us lots of good information about the city, places to visit, good restaurants, etc.
What could be improved: A few cockroaches seen… but I guess this is hard to avoid as the building is old and the apartment is on the ground floor.
Check in – just a few hours window and until 7PM, which is too early.Simon from Netherlands – 14 August 2024 (9/10)
We had a verry warm welcome with lots of instructions and tips where to go. The appartment is very clean and has all equipment. You get what's promised. Ideally suited for a short week stay in a lovely town. If you go by car just leave it parked during your stay, you will not miss it 😀.
Everything is around the corner (baker, supermarket, very, very good fresh pasta store, butcher) for normal living and everything is also around the corner for drinking and eating outside if you like easy living.
What could be improved: No outside space (via Duomo 10) but you are in the middle of the old city with everything on hand which you may expect from Verona.
